Frankie giggled before it turned into a full belly laugh with tears rolling down her face. Daddy looked worried, but she didn’t pay any mind to it. Not until she wasn’t laughing anymore but crying.
“Oh, Frankie.” Daddy pulled her close to him.
She snuggled into his chest, holding tightly onto his shirt as he started to walk with her in his arms.
“You’re okay. Let it all out. I’ve got you,” Daddy whispered in her ear. “I’ve got you and nothing is going to happen. You’re safe, Frankie.”
Frankie continued to cry in his chest as everything came crashing down around her. So many things could have gone wrong. How had she gotten so lucky?
“You’re okay,” Daddy whispered. “Everything is going to be okay. I’ve got you.”
But she didn’t feel fully safe right now. The man who threatened her came into her workplace like he owned it. He stormed in full of confidence and ready to do anything.
“Is there anything I can do?” Dominic asked.
“Let me know if there is anything I can do. Frankie is like a little sister to me,” Trent added. “I’ll even do her jobs for a couple of days on top of mine if she needs to take some time off.”
Frankie’s shoulders shook as she started to cry even harder What had she done to deserve these men in her life?
“She has time off, but thank you for offering,” Daddy replied. “I’ll let you know if we need anything. Right now, I am going to get her home so she can get some rest and I can take care of her.”
“I don’t want to see either of you tomorrow or the day after.” Finn’s voice filled the room. “I know I’m not your boss, Noah, but she needs you, and she needs time off. Go and take care of her for the next couple of days. You’ve got a lot of vacation time built up.”
“Don’t worry. I plan to keep her in the house and not let her do anything but let me take care of her,” Daddy replied.
And right now, it sounded like heaven having Daddy take care of her.
“I’m sorry it happened, Little One.” Finn’s voice sounded right next to her.
Opening her eyes, she looked at Finn, and he gave her a small smile.
“I’ll see you when I see you,” he gently said. “Don’t give your Daddy too much trouble.”
“I is a good girl,” she whispered.
Everyone laughed, and Daddy held her tighter.
“Let’s go home.” Daddy kissed the top of her head.
Home.
CHAPTER 26
FRANKIE
“I’ve got strawberry milk for you,” Daddy said as he walked back into the room.
A smile blossomed on her face as she looked at the bottle in his hand. This would be the first time she would be drinking out of a bottle, and she was excited. Frankie thought she might have been nervous, but she wasn’t in the slightest.
To feel Daddy holding her while he fed her. To feel the calmness wash over her as she drank the milk slowly while looking up at her Daddy.
Perfect.
“Are you nervous about trying the bottle with me?” Daddy asked.
She shook her head. “I really want to.”
“Good. If at any time you get uncomfortable or don’t want to do it anymore, you let me know.” Daddy sat in the middle of the bed. “Come here.”
