I licked my lips as she shuffled down my body, curling against my side with a contented sigh.

“How are you feeling? I asked.

“Sleepy. I’ll get up in a minute, though, otherwise we’ll be late.”

I hummed in agreement. Our appointment was the only thing that could have made me want to leave the house after a session like that. Even still, there was a part of me that wanted to postpone and take Blair upstairs to drag another half dozen orgasms from her.

I could never get enough. Which was why I had something burning a hole in my pocket that, in retrospect, I was glad she hadn’t noticed when she stripped me before.

Was it tacky to propose after sex? Definitely.

I should wait.

Maybe take her back to that Japanese restaurant she liked.

“Marry me.”

Shit.

“What?”

“When we tell this story in the future, we can pretend I did it in some romantic way, and not half naked on the sofa with your pussy juices drying on my face, but I have no filter around you. Marry me. Please.”

“If I say yes now, will you give me a redo so there’s a safe for work version of this story?”

My body shook with the urge to laugh.

“Definitely.”

“Then yes. Pending a better story.” She pulled me into a kiss, then sat up, slapping my thigh a little too close to my balls for comfort.

“Come on. Let’s get changed and head out.”

The Austin Animal Allies shelter looked the same as always, which felt a little weird considering the life-changing decisions that had happened already today.

The round cut diamond that Mia helped me buy sparkled on Blair’s hand where it sat in mine, and I couldn’t stop looking at it.

She’d agreed to marry me.

And we were about to complete our little family.

I’d spent time thinking about how Katie had comforted Seelie with footage of me, and floated the idea with the shelter of providing videos of Blair, Oscar, and Mia, so she could become used to them, too. We’d experimented over the last couple of weeks first with Blair, then Oscar, then finally Mia with a very anxious Oscar hovering nearby. Mia’s belly was round as a basketball, and Seelie had laid her head against it, like she could hear the baby inside.

Our little found family had all agreed to help with the care of Seelie, so she’d never be alone, and Katie had offered to dog sit if Mia needed a break while we were away.

At the end of the row, the cage rattled and Seelie emerged wearing a halter and led by Katie. I accepted the lead and took my girls outside, getting Seelie situated in the crate we’d trained her to use, and headed home.

Oscar and Mia were planning to meet us later for dinner to officially meet Seelie in her new home and celebrate our engagement.

Blair wanted me to edit our engagement story already, but they’d know.

Family always knew.

I laced my fingers through hers and raised her fist to my mouth as we steered through the streets of Austin.

I had my sport, my dog, and my woman.

Luckiest guy ever.
