Fern brings Gemma home blindfolded, just like I asked, after spending the day shopping and relaxing.

“What’s going on?” Gemma giggles.

I take over from Fern. Leading her down to the table, I sit her in a chair. Her beauty stuns me. Her hair is curled down her back and she’s sporting a new blue dress. I’m in the grey suit, the same one as the night we met. I don’t tell her about the videographer I hired knowing she would kill me if we didn’t get this recorded.

Removing the blindfold, she looks around in a bit of a daze.

“Gemma.” I get down on one knee. She’s already crying. “When you walked up to me, I never expected to find someone that I would want to spend the rest of my life with. You have proven to be the most amazing person and I know you’ll make a wonderful mother.”

Just then, a smartly dressed Ace and Eden come down the path, while Brody hides out of view. Ace hands me a box. Gemma’s hand covers her face. I can see the smile.

“Mummy,” Eden calls, hugging her.

“Wait,” I tell her.

“Gemma, would you do the honour of not only being my wife, but…”

“Will you be our mother?” Ace asks her.

I take the round solitaire diamond ring out of the box.

“Of course,” she replies.

I stand up as I place the ring on her finger. The children can’t wait to hug her.

“Ace, Eden, come on, time to go,” Brody calls from the shadows. Gemma looks towards the house, spotting her brother.

“Now,” Brody calls again. The children run back, leaving the two of us alone. Now I have her all to myself, I’m never letting her go again.

EPILOGUE

Gemma

Two and a half months later

It is my wedding day today. I didn’t want to wait, and Alex agreed. I’m giddy with excitement. Yesterday, Fern, Eden, my mother, Jill, and I went to get our nails done and have our hair coloured and cut. Now, we're all gathered in the hotel suite, getting ready for my big day.

Mybig day.

I'm going to marry the man I love and become mother to the two children who I adore.

Jill helps Eden into her sage green flower girl dress. She looks beautiful with her hair in curls cascading down her back. She gets a little tiara because she's my princess.

Fern is my bridesmaid and her dress is the same colour as Eden’s. She looks stunning as well with her hair in an elegant low bun.

Jill smiles and fusses over Eden, as does my mother, who insists that Eden calls her Nanny Cara.

We have music playing, and I know our guests are arriving in the hall below us as we get ready. Alex will bethere with Ace: my two handsome boys. I can't wait to see them in the suits I picked out for them.

I take a look at my engagement ring, I can’t believe I’ll soon be Mrs Gemma Cara Whitlock.

Mum helps me into my dress. It's a white ball gown. I had wanted to feel like a princess when I got married, and now I do. She fastens up the corset, and we put the veil on, though it doesn't cover my face. It trails behind me in a stunning train with my dress. Fern brings my flowers to me as I’m helped into my white heels.

There's a knock at the door.

“Gemma, are you ready?” my father asks, standing just outside.

My stomach flutters. Mum opens the door, and I see his eyes light up.
