Onyx shook his head. "You're going to get me pregnant."

My eyes widened, and I sat up fully, fixing Onyx on my lap. He adjusted with ease.

"You want kids?"

My husband slapped me in the back of the head for the second time. "What kind of question is that? I can't get pregnant. I know I love wearing dresses and being cute, but I have a dick."

"So that means we can't try?" I gripped his hips and moved him until his ass was pressed firmly over my cock.

"You know, I worry about you sometimes. If I didn't know your mother, I'd think she dropped you a few times when you were a baby."

All I could picture was Onyx on my lap like this as our kids ran around us. A girl with dark hair and gray eyes and two boys with gray eyes like Onyx.

My husband snapped his fingers in front of my face, pulling me out of my daydream. "Whatever you're thinking about, it's a no."

Onyx also had no interest in us getting married and now look at us. I kept that fact to myself and instead pulled him closer until our lips were a breath apart. "Can I kiss you?"

He grunted. "Why ask? If I say no, you're just going to whine and pout."

"Please, bella, I missed you so much and a kiss would make me feel better."

"So needy." Onyx closed the gap, bringing our lips together in a kiss that rocked through me.

My toes curled as I opened my mouth, wanting the kiss to deepen. I needed more. A groan worked its way up my throat, and my perfect husband swallowed it up whole like he was just as desperate for me as I was for him.

Onyx slipped free of my hold and stood before me like a sultry angel. His lips were slightly puffy from our kiss. His lipstick was smeared and barely clung to his lips.

"You coming to bed or staying out here?"

I was up in a flash. My cock tented my pants, making it impossible to hide just how much my husband turned me on. Onyx dragged his gaze down my body. He focused a little too long on my cock, and the damn thing twitched as if begging him to reach in and touch. My breath caught in my chest as he snapped his fingers and pointed to the ground. He needn't say a word as I got on my knees for him.

"Fuck, you're such a good boy for me, Lucero."

The knot in my stomach was back, but I pushed it away, not letting any of the worry and anxiety seep into me. His soft fingertips danced over my lips, dragging a moan out of me as the touch sent little shocks of electricity straight to my cock.

"Crawl to the bedroom behind me."

I'd do anything for him. If need be, I'd inch into the room like a lowly worm. As long as I got to keep Onyx, I'd do it all.

After a night of hard work,I had to admit the truth. It felt good to be home. The way Lucero clung onto me, his scent, that stupid smile, every crazy word out of his mouth? It soothed me. I’d had a hell of a time tonight taking down my target. He was a brick house of a man. Thank God I had met Lucero, because now? I was always prepared with multiple doses.

No way was I going to take extra chances.

I gazed over my shoulder. Sure enough, there was Lucero, his big, hulking form crawling after me. I’d seen the man duck underneath doorframes to be able to fit. And yet here he was, trailing me, that look on his face, his eyes wide like a puppy waiting for a treat.

Seriously, he was perfect. I was the problem these days. He couldn’t love a thing like me, not really. Even if he said he could. I knew who I was: a loner through and through. Eventually, I would get sick of domesticity and want something of my own again. And he would get caught in the crossfire.

It wasn’t fair to him, but no matter how I tried to say it, he looked at me with those big, dumb eyes and refused to comprehend it. And I was sure he understood every word, hejustchoseto play dumb about it. About me. What I was. How important my mission was to wipe scum off the Earth and make it at least a little bit better and me a little bit richer.

When we reached the room, I turned on my heels sharply. He stumbled back, nearly toppling. A smile tugged at my lips. How was someone so big so afraid of me when I was so tiny? It made my heart pound faster in my chest.

“Stay,” I said as I pointed down to the floor near my feet. “I have a present for you.”

God, if Lucero had a tail, it would be wagging. He sat on the floor, hands planted perfectly on the wood as he stared up at me expectantly. I couldn’t leave without pushing my fingers through his hair. The moment I did, he leaned into my touch.
