-Presley Kate
There’s a cracklingin the air that’s filled with unspent energy. My insides have turned to mush, and every bad decision I’ve ever made plays out before me inside my mind.
The tension in the air is so thick, you could cut it with a knife. It's enough to choke on, and I beg my feet to run, but I can’t. My feet are stuck to the ground, I’ve never been so conflicted or turned on.
It takes two full seconds for the shock to wear off, and my adrenaline to kick in. Subconsciously, I know that they won't hurt me, but none of this makes sense. Why are they doing this to me?
There’s no moving past them to see if I can break that lock on the front door. The living room would be a good option if it wasn’ta dead end, and the kitchen only leads to the patio which would be another dead end.
My only option is the stairs. It's every thriller girl's worst nightmare to end up with that as their final destination, nobody ever runs up the stairs and lives.
"RUN!" Kai screams again, finally breaking me out of my downward spiral.
My mind begs me to change directions and take a chance on running into the den instead, but again all other roads lead to dead ends. No, it's the stairs or nothing.
With wild exuberance, I climb the steps two at the time. My blood roars to life in my veins and rushes to my ears, the thunder that is my heartbeat feels like it’s about to come out of its cage of muscle and tissue. It’s too loud in my ears, and it’s the only sound I can pick up.
No matter what I do or where I go, they'll find me, and I want them to. Desire clenches in my lower belly at the thought of their wrath. Gunner's more unhinged than Kai, what will he do to punish me?
Desperation, cold and hopeless, grips my core as my initial fear subsides. The thrill of being caught and the pleasure that his punishment will bring has taken its place. Where are they?
When I reach the landing, I stop long enough to take off my shoes in hopes that they won't hear what direction I move in.
Trying to control my breathing, I tiptoe towards my least favorite room in this house.
Gunner's east parlor room is filled with an assortment of priceless antiques. The most notable being a dining table, and tea set that belonged to Henry VIII himself. I swear I can hear the screams of his victims coming from the wood.
My stepbrothers laugh every time I tell them that. They'll look in this room last. Who knows, maybe I can sneak back downstairsif they take long enough. This is an absurdly large house so anything is possible.
My shallow breaths fill the silence of the room while I wait for them to come, because it’s inevitable they will come.
The pull we feel for each other is too strong, and I'll never be able to escape them. Once Gunner makes me his, I’ll never be able to let them go.
Lifting the tablecloth, I crawl underneath the table. As soon as I walked into this room my body revolted and begged me to walk back out.
I've always had an overactive imagination, but being in here makes the small hairs on the back of my neck rise. This room is creepy as fuck, and I swear it feels like someone is watching me when I’m in here.
Beads of sweat gather at my temple, the anticipation is getting to me. Even with the pain that comes with your first time, Kai set the bar high. I can’t imagine it getting any better than what we did earlier.
A knock sounds at the door, and I have to bite my tongue to keep from yelling. They’re here, but toying with me. Why does that make my pussy melt?
The thought of taking Gunner's punishment is making me so wet, will he fuck me like an animal? I hope so. The fear of the unknown is intensifying my arousal.
There’s a darkness that’s slowly manifesting itself inside of me, and I don’t know how I should feel about it. But it feels good.
Their heavy footsteps travel further down the hall, and I smile in a half victory.
Peeking from underneath the tablecloth, I can make out more objects now that my eyes have adjusted to the dark. On the opposite wall there is a glow coming from a tiny slit beside the bookcase.
Curiosity killed the cat, but hopefully it won't kill me. I crawl toward the light to investigate, because it’s too odd not to check out. Said absolutely nobody else ever.
Shit! This is a secret passage and the door has been left slightly ajar. Could this be a trick?
The door is heavy and I have to stand up to get it to open all the way. I wince as it squeaks with the movement, but there’s nothing I can do to stop it now. The damage is already done.
Behind the door are stairs that lead into more darkness. Listening more closely, I can hear whispers coming from the shadows below.
This discovery brings back the fear, it's cold and calculating and lures me into the unknown. A scream climbs up my throat, and falls from my lips. It’s loud, and filled with fear.
