He’s no longer talking to Alessandro, but seems to be in a heated discussion with Santiago, which can’t be good.
But it’s nothing unusual for a family dinner.
My gaze finds Alessandro. He’s quiet, his face pensive. I keep looking at him, but he doesn’t even glance at me.
Finally, he says something to my father that I can’t hear because everyone’s too damn loud, and then he walks away from the table.
Something’s wrong.
I think, even though I’m not sure.
Getting to my feet, I give my mom a smile, and then I follow Alessandro. I find him in the bathroom at the end of the hallway. The door’s open, and he’s leaning on the sink.
I knock on the door, even though I’m sure he knows exactly where I am.
“Is everything okay?” I ask.
His gaze meets mine in the mirror.
Chapter 33
THE WORRIED LOOK INSienna’s eyes almost makes me pause, but I have my plan, and I’m going to follow it.
Even if I feel like a monster for doing it.
For doing it to her.
She’s so nice, sweet, and innocent.
So good.
Like a kitten.
A kitten with sharp teeth and claws.
I can’t fool myself. I don’t deserve someone like her.
