Static crackled in Lola’s ears. Gloriana was saying no. It wasn’t the right time, again. But she’d already told Renee that everything had been approved! Renee was counting on this.
Lolawas counting on this. She wanted to be able to kiss her girlfriend in the street and take her to an awards show and dance with her at Tatiana’s next wedding.
Then again, Gloriana wanted the best for her. She had been there for her since the very beginning and Lola had always been able to trust her.
The truth was, a part of her felt relieved. Coming out was so overwhelming, so riddled with uncertainty. It would be so simple to avoid all that.
But Lola had promised Renee. She wanted to be the person Renee believed she was. She had to try being brave.
When she spoke, her voice sounded so small. “Coming out would do the opposite of stirring things up, wouldn’t it? I mean, it would clarify things. It looks like I’m doing something queer because I am. I’m queer.”
“I think ‘bisexual’ would be an easier phrasing,” Gloriana said. “But we can decide on that when we work through the messaging—after the film’s done, after the album. And hopefully after the world tour, because we don’t want to limit ourselves there.” Gloriana’s tone softened. “Honey, you’ve been through so much recently. You’re still fragile—maybe you can’t see it, but I can. This isn’t the time to make things harder than they need to be.”
Okay but where are the photos of the actual kissing?
