“Hmmm. For now.” Angelina shrugs as if she couldn’t care less.
“Areyournames fake?” They can’t be real.
“Of a sort,” Blabbo hedges.
“There’s only one person who knows my true name,” Absurdo growls. It’s the first time he hasn’t looked playful and silly. Blabbo places a hand over Absurdo’s and his features return to their previously blissful state.
“Like a fae prince in a fairy tale.” I attempt, trying to improve the mood. I don’t know the story with their names, but it’s obviously a sore spot for Absurdo.
“Exactly,” Blabbo says calmly, squeezing Absurdo’s hand then returning his to his drink.
“Do you live in the area?” Having grown up here, I know most everyone who lives in Ghostlight Falls. It’s rare to see anyone come through that I don’t know, except for tourists. And these three are not typical tourists.
“That’s not really what you want to ask,” Blabbo says. I don’t understand how he seems to know what I’m thinking, but I find it more interesting than creepy.
“We aren’t serial killers,” Angelina says, adjusting the band that’s tying her long ears together.
“I can be a little perverse if you want me to be, but we won’t hurt you,” Absurdo says, leaning in closer to me. His tongue darts out, toying with his lip ring, and suddenly all I can think about is all the places I want that tongue to go.
“And we won’t do anything you don’t want,”Blabbo adds.
“W-we?” When I walked over here, I thought maybe one of them would be interested, but with the way they’re all looking at me, heat in their eyes, maybe this is more than I had bargained for.
“Oh yes, love.” Blabbo’s smile looks wicked in the dim lighting of the bar.
“Decide quickly. We need to fuck someone tonight. And we’d prefer it to be you.” Angelina continues to act disinterested, but she’s moved closer to me through this conversation. It’s clear that it’s just an act.
I might regret this in the morning, but I definitely could use some more fun in my life. “I’m in.”
“Oh, no, flower. We’re in,” Angelina says, closing the distance between us and pulling me in for a kiss. Her tongue presses against the seam of my lips, and I open for her willingly. The other two close in around us.
A hard cock is pressed against my back as Blabbo whispers in my ear, “Let’s get out of here.”
Chapter three
Good Idea/Bad Idea
Absurdo
As the others stand to leave, I quickly grab handfuls of the remaining food, wolfing it down in an instant. I toss enough money on the table to cover our tab. The rest of the group is already walking out the door, so after one last mouthful of pub mix, I dash to catch up with them. Everything is going according to Blabbo’s plan so far, except the second I saw Rebecca in person, my body reacted. Didn’t expect that to happen. Encephalon and Blabbo had shown us pictures of her, cute enough, but there’ssomethingelseabout her the camera can’t pick up. She’s got a different energy from anyone we've come across before. Which, I guess, is sort of the point. We needed someone with both human and demon blood for the ceremony. I still think we should just cut to the chase and tell her everything, but Blabbo insists it’s better this way. He always likes a complicated plan over a simple one. I’m more direct. But after everything he’s done for Angelina and me, I’ve got to trust him.
“So a nurse, huh?” I step beside Rebecca. She looks taken aback, but I nod my head to her bag where her badge is clipped, hanging on the outside. Not that I needed that, we already knew.
She smiles, “Yeah.”
I give a drawn-out wolf whistle. “I bet all the kids make up excuses just to come see you.”
“I don’t know about that.” She tucks a strand of golden hair behind her ear. “Whydo you have an accent while the others don’t?”
I shrug. “I joined the group a little later.” She glances down at my exposed legs.
“Easier access,” I joke with an exaggerated eyebrow waggle. I don’t mention that we escaped with nothing, grabbing what we could find and are making the best of it. Leaning in, I whisper in her ear, “Care to take a peek?”
“Wait until we’re home,” Blabbo says, opening the passenger seat door for Rebecca. She gets in, and he closes the door behind her, looking up at me pointedly. “Don’t mess this up for us. We need this.”
“I was just flirting.”
“If everything doesn’t happen exactly as it needs to, then it was all for nothing.” Blabbo opens the back door for me, indicating I should take a seat. I do, and he slams the door shut behind me. Angelina gets in on the other side.
