Trailing my finger over the gemstone around my neck, I used my free hand to cup his stubbly cheek.

“You’re wonderful.”

And since he wasn’t making a move to kiss me, I pushed onto my toes. But he pressed a finger against my mouth before I could hit my mark.

“We’ll ruin your lipstick.”

Smiling sweetly, I slicked my tongue over my bottom lip. “It’s smudge-proof.”

He was devouring me not even a second later.

And as it always was with us, a simple kiss was never enough.

Zach grabbed me by the waist and lifted me up against the window. As soon as he had me pinned against the glass with his big body, his hands went to my dress. Gripping the material between his fingers, he pushed it all the way up to my waist.

“How much time do we have?” I moaned, already rocking my hips against him.

Fumbling with his pants, he grunted, “I don’t know. Five minutes.”

“That’s not enough—”

I didn’t even have time to finish my sentence before my underwear was shoved out of the way and he slid inside me.

“Mi diosa, I can have you seeing stars in three.”

Two and a half, actually.

And when he fell over the edge a few moments later, it seemed to be the perfect time to share my news.

“I’m pregnant.”

Zach’s body jerked and his dark stare immediately found mine. “You’re…” His gaze dropped to my stomach, and when he looked at me again, his eyes glistened. “We’re having a baby?”

“We are.” I nodded furiously, unable to keep my own tears from falling.

And when he cradled my face between his hands and pressed the most tender kiss to my lips, my heart almost burst out of my chest.

For a girl who didn’t know the first thing about love and being loved in return, I sure as hell lucked out.

“Yeah, well screw you too.”

Shoving my middle finger skyward, I glared at the clouds currently peeing on me. Not that it’s nature’s fault for doing what it was created to do in the first place. Nope, this was all on me.

Because who the heck living in New York leaves the house without an umbrella in the middle of April?

Me, that’s who.

Ugh.

Chilled and soaked to the bone, I flipped the dark sky off one more time.

“When it rains, it freaking pours, right?”

A laugh bubbled up my throat and if I wasn’t feeling the way I was, the maniacal sound probably would have freaked me the hell out.
