“You’re convincing me,” she pants.

And I hope she’s referring to her being mine because I need her to be. I feel her pussy pulse before she whimpers the sweetest sound. I slide my fingers out and meet her gaze. I lick them, and she smiles. I’ve fallen beyond the point of no return.

I grab for the blanket, pulling it back. “Get under there.”

“Are you leaving?” she asks, sounding stressed.

“It’s time for me to go.” I nod for her to get under the covers.

“What about you?” she asks, not moving.

“Next time.” I lean down to kiss the top of her head. “I’m happy you were able to pencil me in this morning.”

“Me too.” She laughs, and I love the sound. “Do you think you will be able to wait until Saturday to see me?” she teases.

I chuckle, running my hand up and down her arm. “The pain will be good for me.”

As Brandon tucks me in, I can’t wait to see him on Saturday and talk more about all of his interests.

“The pain will be good for me.”

He’ll probably be the freakiest guy I’ve ever been with. I’ve been wanting that … I’ve been wanting someone more into all the shit I like to read about. Most of all, I’ve been wanting something more than casual sex.

I’m such a stereotype at this point. Another Gen Zer who’s never had a significant other.

But … this is the worst timing. I only have one client, and I’ve spent a few thousand dollars on startup costs. Real life begins to set in, ending this post orgasm bliss.

How am I going to pay my credit card bill? My rent? Groceries?

I need to focus.

In my office, I can’t focus on work. Blankly staring at my computer screen, all I can think about is Taylor Williams. I attempt to read a new report from our analysts, but I keep replaying the way she cried out. It was incredible.

A light knock at my door startles me more than it should.

“Have a minute?” Declan asks, and I nod. Shoulder length hair works for him, but I don’t know if I’d ever grow my hair out like that. “I haven’t seen you in, what, two months? How’s life?” he asks, taking a seat.

“Really good.”My morning was fucking perfect,I think, reminiscing being between Taylor’s legs.

Declan looks chill, relaxed. I’m assuming this is a personal catch up, not work related.

“What have you been up to besides buying a company?” he asks with a light laugh.

“Ha.” I shake my head. He is maybe the only other person who knows how intense Kent Dubois can be, buying the Dubois investment firm and rolling it into Cryptoball. “Well, I ended up at a wedding reception at your lake house.”

“You were there?” he asks, sounding surprised. “How do you know them?”

“I don’t and was going to ask how you know them.”

“I don’t. But Phoenix …” I nod, knowing she’s Dani’s therapist and on the board of a nonprofit with Declan. “The groom is her brother.”

“Oh, cool. Well, I met someone there, and we’ve been hanging out.”

Declan nods, but I see a familiar worry cross his face.
