“And no others have before him?”

“None.”

“I know of one who did,” Simeon stated with a knowing smirk.

Eloy cocked an eyebrow. “And only you know of him. Keep it that way.”

“No point in saying anything now. That was decades ago. Besides, it would only enrage Kijani for no reason,” Simeon said, and then laughed.

“He died too young,” Eloy whispered softly as he thought back to the one human who’d captured his heart.

“He did, but it was for the best.”

Eloy snarled at Simeon. “Be careful how you speak.”

Simeon raised his hand, calming Eloy’s temper. “I say that not to offend, but to remind. We agreed to never take a human lover. It is forbidden. Their lifespans are but a blink of an eye compared to us. To take one would only cause a war as jealousies mounted.”

Eloy sighed. “All this I know.”

“And yet, eighty years ago, you ignored.”

“That was eighty years ago, Simeon.”

“Very well,” the god of wind conceded… somewhat. “I just feel concern as you’ve shown favor among one from the least impressive lifeforms… according to Kijani and Odessa.”

“And why do you take interest in what has captured my attention?” Eloy asked, leaning forward a little.

“Because very little interests you beyond quenching your desires. Is that what you want? To sink your cock into that human? I’d understand if that was it. He was fetching… or is it something more?”

Eloy thought about what he wanted from that human whose name he still did not know. He had been captivated by the boy’s struggle to survive against a foe who was destined and more than capable to end him. There was something about the boy that spoke to Eloy, but he wasn’t quite sure what it was. Apart from that mystery feeling, he did desire the boy and wanted to feel his flesh buried deeply inside the boy’s hot, tight, passage.

He looked at Simeon, smiling. “You know me well, my friend. Most males as pretty as he is are destined for the brothels. I am interested to see what kind of warrior he will become.”

“And you are intended to have him in your bed?” Simeon asked.

“Oh, indeed,” Eloy admitted.

“Well, that clears it up for me. Although, I’m sure such reasons will not appease Kijani.”

“Kijani wishes to have me all to himself simply because we did bed before. He will simply have to accept that he will not,” Eloy said, then he slapped his knee. “I could not interest you in my slaves, but would you also refuse the delicacies of my chefs?”

“Ah!” Simeon placed his hand over his stomach and grinned widely. “Now, that is the way to my heart.”

Eloy laughed, then rose from his throne and walked towards the door, opening it. “We will dine now.”

“Yes, God Eloy.” The human slave bowed his head and ran off to fetch the food.

Eloy returned to his throne and waited for the food to arrive, which it did on several silver platters. Those closest to where the gods lived could enjoy the luxuries of being so blessed, which was finer clothing, dwellings, running water, electricity, and delicious food. The further one lived, the more those luxuries became basic or non-existent. Just one of the reasons why humans did what they could to stay close and keep the gods happy.

Eloy indulged in the roasted rosemary chicken, potatoes, fruit, and vegetables that his chef had prepared and Simeon partook as well. The two gods discussed random topics, nothing too revealing around the human servants who held the silver platters of which they dined upon.

Another servant entered the room, walking over to Eloy, and bowed as he presented an envelope. “God Eloy, this letter just arrived for you.”

Eloy sucked the juices from his fingertips and took the letter, then waved away the servant, who left without saying a word. Eloy read who the letter came from and smirked.

“Good news, I take it?” Simeon speculated as he devoured his roasted chicken. Human food was something he’d never get tired of enjoying. There was always so many ways to prepare a meal and so many delights to sample. If he had one weakness, one sin he’d fallen victim to that he’d admit, it was gluttony.

“Possibly,” Eloy said as he opened the letter and read its contents. A slow smile spread across his lips as he read what the letter offered him. Something he’d hadn’t had the opportunity to enjoy in quite some time.
