I walked out of the room and made my way to the last person I wanted to see. The priest who was probably the closest thing to a father I thought I had. I entered Father Lucinius’ room, where he had been sitting as his desk, writing. He turned abruptly and looked at me, his mouth dropping open in shock.
“Theodosius!” he gasped.
“My name is Théoden,” I corrected.
“We thought you were dead,” he said.
I watched as his body began to tremble in fear, the quill shaking in his fingers, the ink dripping onto his robe.
“I was reborn, you could say,” I stated as I walked closer. I watched his body stiffen and his eyes dart toward the door, then the window. “Do not try to flee, you cannot.”
“That monster turned you!” he snarled.
I nodded. “He freed me. Revealed to me who the real monsters were. He gave me the pleasure you all denied me. He wants my happiness, you only wanted my servitude. I was a weapon to you, one to give you glory. When you looked at me, you did not see a baby, you saw a monster. A monster you all thought you could control. And for a while, you did. I believed everything you ever told me, held it to be true as gospel.” I laughed under my breath and shook my head. “And you call my Father and our kind evil.”
“You are evil,” he snarled as he rose from his chair.
“What is evil, Father Lucinius? Is it treating a child like a retched beast? Or is it getting revenge on those who had wronged that child?” I bared my fangs as I released a deep growl.
“I—I cared—for you, Theodosius,” he stammered. His skin had gone pale as he broke out in a sweat.
“Tell me, how often did you wish to see your cock in my mouth?” I asked.
He fell back against his desk as if my very question was a physical blow to his chest. “How dare you?!” he growled.
“You fucked Ashur,” I said.
His mouth dropped open again. “How…how do you know?”
I smirked. “I saw the truth in Ashur’s mind.” I waved my hand and stepped closer to him. “None of that matters now, Father Lucinius.” I reached out, grabbing him by the collar of his gown. “Vampire King Ara send his regards,” I said, then struck. I sank my fangs deeply into his throat, denying him my venom as I drained him of his blood. The pleasure was all mine to take and I indulged greedily in every single drop.
Once the blood flow stopped, I pulled back and looked at his corpse. I felt a rage built up inside of me and I tossed him with all of my strength across the room. His body splattered upon impact as if it had fallen from some great height. I looked at the smear of his blood and bits and pieces of his organs dripping down the wall and was amazed at my own power.
It was a mass of flesh and splintered bones on the floor where his body had landed and was complete unidentifiable. As I stared at the pile of human filth, I felt nothing but happiness. My mission was not complete yet. There was staff that had to die as well. I made quick work of them, slaughtering them as they tried to run. I was practically floating from the blood I had gorged myself on, almost to the point of nausea. Another thing I hadn’t realized was possible. Apparently, a vampire could drink too much.
Once I was outside in the garden, I could no longer hold back, and I vomited blood onto a rose bush. But once it was out of my stomach, I felt better. For me, sex would never overflow, but blood could. Another lesson learned. I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and, before I could take to the skies, three vampires appeared before me.
“Where do you herald from?” one of them asked me. He gripped a silver dagger in his hand a little more tightly as he waited for my reply.
I looked at each one them, gauging them and their positions to my own. I didn’t fear them because I knew just how powerful I was and I was confident in my training. This was the other part of my mission, one that Ara was certain I would encounter.
“From the Kingdom of Ara, my Father,” I declared proudly. Ara wanted me to do so, and in doing so, leave my mark.
“Is this a declaration of war?” the same vampire asked.
I shrugged. “I think not. I had an old debt to settle.” I gestured toward the rectory, and then to my clothes that were covered in the blood of my victims.
“You dare kill on our territory!” another vampire said.
“Breaching another vampire King’s territory without permission is punishable by death,” the first vampire said, then he advanced on me. He was fast, as fast as Nolan, and I had to react quickly before he could plunge the blade of his dagger into my chest. Thanks to my training with Tylendel, I knew the silver could not kill me, but it could weaken me, and that, I could not allow.
I grabbed his wrist just as the tip of the dagger pierced my flesh, burning my skin. I didn’t hesitate to take advantage of our close proximity. I sank my fangs deeply in his shoulder and injected as much venom as I could.
He cried out, and I pulled back. He released his grip on his dagger and staggered back. The other two vampires looked at him and glared in shock as his skin began to turn pale. Sweat poured from his pores as his veins began to protrude through his flesh, looking bright red against the nearly translucent skin.
I didn’t know the effect a dragon’s venom could have on a vampire and still didn’t know, as I was only half dragon. But its effect was deadly and looked to be extremely painful as the vampire had been rendered powerless against my bite until he died. I looked at the other two vampires and aimed my hand at the one who had not spoken a word, then conjured up my flames, releasing them in his direction.
The other vampire dashed out of the way, his sword drawn, but he stayed his position as he watched me burn his companion into a cinder. The vampire howled as he spun around in an attempt to extinguish the flames, but he couldn’t. I controlled them and only relinquished that control once he fell to the ground, motionless. The last remaining vampire was thinking about fleeing or fighting, which was the only reason he was still there. In the end, he decided to flee, and I chased after him.
