I was surprised that Ashur was telling the truth so freely, but then I wondered if Ara was making him speak.
“What do you know about Théoden?” Ara asked them. Both men looked confused, and Ara huffed. “Theodosius.”
“That he is born of evil. The spawn of a dragon and whore,” Samuel said.
“How did you come to know this?” Ara asked.
I was awestruck and couldn’t form words even if I tried. My heart was heavy with the pain I felt. The people I had trusted most in my life had lied to me. Had used me and kept me dependent on them for happiness. Ara was right.
“I was told to keep an eye on him. Prevent him from giving in to his natural urges, for fear that he would transform into a beast with wings and destroy the Church. They knew that he had unnatural desires for me and I would not be persuaded if he had acted on them,” Samuel said. The expression on his face was one of confusion and fear, as if he couldn’t understand why he was telling us his secrets. I wanted to know more.
“And if I were to indulge in my ‘unnatural urges,’ what then?” I finally found my voice again. “Answer me!” I demanded. And with that command, I felt my will being pushed onto them.
“We were to destroy you,” Samuel blurted out.
“I am unaware of what he knows,” Ashur said, looking at me, then to Ara.
Very well. I turned all of my attention on Samuel, since he seemed to know more about me than I did. “Tell me about my mother,” I ordered. I knew very little of her. I had only been told that I was left on the steps of the Church with a note that stated she loved me, but could not care for me, so they took me in. They had only told me that I was a gift from God that night, delivered by my mother.
“All I know is that your mother, Sura, had come to the Church with you still in her womb. She was sick and in the midst of childbirth. She was afraid of you and begged the priest to kill you when you were born because you were the child of a demon. A dragon who had impregnated her while raping her over and over. She said you were evil and needed to be destroyed. She died the moment you came into this world. And it is said that the flames of the candles in the room burned brighter the moment you were born. The Church was aware of dragons, and so they tested you by bringing fire to your flesh. You were unharmed by the flame, and that is how they knew your mother spoke the truth. That is the story as it was told to me. They kept you alive, because with the proper guidance, you would be better suited to serve the Church and its crusade.”
I listened to every word that came from his poisonous mouth, but the ones that hurt me the most, that left a stinging in my heart, was what my own mother had thought of me.
“My mother… hated me?” I was at a loss for words again. I had imagined that maybe she had given me away because she couldn’t afford to take care of me and only wanted me to be safe and raised with good, holy people. Or that maybe she had to give me up because I was born to be God’s warrior and not her son. I always believed that her love was so great for me, she gave me to the only people she knew would give me a good life. To learn I was their weapon and one they didn’t trust, hurt me to the core of my soul and I growled at Samuel.
“Can you blame her? You are evil, Theodosius, that is why you were so easily corrupted!” Samuel shouted, and I saw red.
“Were you ever my friend?” I asked. I was so enraged that even the calming sound of my own voice terrified me because I didn’t know what I was capable of at this point. All I could think about were the many years Samuel and I had spent together. How we laughed and played together. How we hunted and completed our missions, shared our victories… had any of that mattered? Was any of it real? I waited for his answer, because it looked as though he was fighting me. “Were you ever my friend?” I demanded, this time I did not give him the choice of refusal.
“No! You were always a beast that needed to be contained. You were my mission,” Samuel shouted in a huff.
My rage won out, and I was on Samuel before I even knew what I was doing. My fangs were buried inside his neck and I was feasting on his blood, devouring his life in the most delectable flow. My body was humming with the pleasure of my feeding, and I was in heaven as I took every drop of his blood into my being. I could feel my cock hardening again, but I could only focus on the blood as it flowed over my tongue and down my throat, making me feel more alive than I had ever felt when I was human.
I whimpered when there was no more to drink and was forced to pull away. I sat back on my heels, reeling from the ecstasy of my feast. I could sense my Sire, nay, my Savior, coming closer to me. He slipped his arm around my chest as his hand grabbed my cock and started stroking.
“Now do you appreciate the gift I have given to you, my son?” he asked as he brought me more pleasure.
I reached up, grabbing his bicep as I leaned into him. “Yes, Sire.”
He turned my face toward his, kissing me, and I gave into him completely. My eyes were opened now, and I was grateful Ara was there to help me pick up the pieces of my shattered reality. From the moment we met, he had been completely honest with me. He told me his plans for me and he exposed the clergy of the Church for the hypocrites they were. He… Ara… freed me. I whined when Ara released me and pulled back.
“Well, what should we do about this one?” he asked, pointing toward Ashur.
My cock was still raging and dripping fluid on the floor. I wanted to spill my seed so badly, and the need to do so almost rivaled my ability to concentrate on what he was asking. I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was Samuel’s corpse with his throat torn open. It was a gruesome sight with his flesh shredded and bloody as if an animal had gotten to him. I had done that to him in my rage and hunger. But he had done something far worse to me in his hate and deceit. I did not feel guilty. I had been their victim, their pawn, but those days were over. Ara gave me the power to stand strong without them.
I turned to Ashur. “He should prove that he is worthy of our gift, Sire,” I said.
Ara cocked an eyebrow. “Oh, and how so, my son?”
“He should serve us as a human until he has proven that he is worthy of our blood,” I replied.
“Then he will serve you, and if you deem him worthy, he shall be your first child when you are ready,” Ara said. “For now, Nolan, take him away, and get rid of that.”
“Yes, Sire,” Nolan said, then he reached down, grabbing Ashur and Samuel’s corpse, and dragged them both out of the bedroom, leaving me alone with Ara and Tylendel and my desires.
“I am proud of you, Théoden. You are already proving that I was right toembraceyou.” He reached up, taking my head into his hands, lowering my gaze to him. “I cannot wait to see what great things you will do in the future. For now, we fuck.”
“Finally,” Tylendel quipped. “I have gone soft over here waiting for you, which is a grave injustice in our world.”
