“You’re so modest,” Sage said. “One of these days, I’m going to have this pretty ass in the back of my limo.”

“You know what? If we were already in the back of the limo and you showed me a photo of this gorgeous ass car and said it was mine, you could have had me any way you wanted in the back of that limo, divider up or down. On the hood, trunk, roof, I wouldn’t care,” I said, still grinning at my new car.

He burst out laughing. “Now you tell me,” he said when the chuckles finally calmed down. He wrapped his arm around my waist and looked at Shi as he pulled me closer to the elevator. “Give us about thirty, okay?”

She rolled her eyes, smirked, and nodded. “Fine. Go fuck.”

Once Sage had me on that bed, I rode him for all he was worth until he was screaming my name in pleasure. I was only wearing my shirt and it was open, exposing my neck. Sage’s eyes lingered on it and I knew he wanted to bite me. The vampire in him was probably having a hard time resisting.

“It’s okay… feed,” I said. Never had I given my blood to a vampire, but Sage was my mate and if his bite was pleasurable, all the better. Also, I wanted him to know just how much I trusted him.

“Are…ahhhh fuck… are you sure?” he asked as I worked my hips over his cock. His eyes rolled up in his head as his fangs descended.

“Do it,” I panted, tilting my head back, giving myself to him.

He struck and I gasped, because it hurt at first, his fangs breaking through my skin. But then, as he began to drink my blood, I felt the most exquisite ecstasy coursing through my body. It even made my cock more rigid and when I came, the intensity rocked me to my core. I clung to Sage, screaming with each stroke of his cock. Sage growled against my flesh as his cock unloaded inside of me, filling me with his heat, and it was so perfect to have my blood giving him pleasure and nourishment as we made love. I collapsed against him after he withdrew, I was that wasted.

“I… I didn’t take too much, did I?” he asked as he licked my wound.

I shook my head. “I just… need a … moment.”

“Take all the time you need.”

We lay there for a while, recuperating from our earth-shattering orgasms. So, it was fifty minutes and not thirty, but we were showered, dressed, and finally on the road to Salino’s home. I was driving my new car, grinning like a fool the whole time. Sage was sitting next to me and Shi was in her own car behind ours. I’d never had anything this cool before and the damn thing drove like it was on a cloud. I loved it and the new car smell. Getting back to Salino, the vampire was a tricky one and it was best that he would be facing both Sage and I this time, especially since he needed us.

“Enjoying your new car?” Sage asked me.

I looked over to him and smiled. “Feels like Christmas morning. I fucking love it. I mean… I just can’t wait to get you back home and fuck your brains out again.”

He laughed. “This might be a short ass meeting, then.”

“My overwhelming joy at my car and office furniture aside, what do you think he really wants us to do for him?”

“I know he wants to be the Emperor, but it won’t be easy,” Sage said.

“I want to make sure he can never control you again,” I said. I didn’t like that Salino had that kind of power over my lover.

“That makes two of us, but we have to be careful. All magic comes with a price, even what we did. I’m not sure what price we paid to bring Lacey back or to kill those mages, but I’m sure we’ll find out,” Sage said.

I was silent for a little while, then spoke. “Not all magic comes with a price, though, Sage. Well, I mean, sometimes the price is just our energy, like using our fire and energy defense magic.”

He nodded. “True. But bringing Lacey back—”

“Whatever that price was, it was worth it. Besides, I think returning one spirit to its rightful place and restoring hers pretty much was the trade-off,” I said.

“I guess I’m just thinking about repercussions now.”

“Whatever they are, we will face them together,” I said.

He took my hand into his, kissing the back of it. “I know.”

Five minutes later, I was pulling up in front of Salino’s home. Shi pulled up behind us and the three of us exited the cars. Sage adjusted his suit, a black one with a silver tie. I swore he looked like a million bucks and I looked like his pocket change in my t-shirt and jeans. But that was how I loved to dress and I really appreciated Sage not making me feel bad or less than for not wearing a suit like him. Although, I was learning quickly that my man liked to spoil me. Already, my closet was fuller with new designer clothing, jeans, polo shirts, t-shirts, suits, and other casual wear. I loved it all and was surprised by how well Sage knew my tastes.

“Wait here,” Sage told Shi, who frowned, but nodded.

“Let’s go.” Sage led the way into Salino’s building and walked straight past the receptionist, who only looked up, but didn’t try to stop us. So, that was different.

We climbed onto the elevator and when the doors opened on Salino’s floor, we were greeted by two vampires. One I recognized as Nakago and the other, I didn’t know, but she looked like a no-nonsense female.
