“I'll take the kidstoday, bring ‘em by the club. I'll drop them off once you get back home,” Maverick said.
“Why don't you bathe and dress them first, unless that's too much for me to ask of you,” Melissa snapped.
“I'll even change their diapers,” Maverick retorted.
“Asshole,” Melissa cursed, then rose and left to fume and get ready for work.
Maverick looked at his two boys who were giving him curious expressions. “I'm sorry you two had to hear all of that. Mommy and Daddy had a little dispute. But you don't have to worry... you will always have Daddy in your life.” He grabbed both seats by the handle and took the kids to their nursery to get them ready to go.

“Call me when you get off work,” Maverick called out to Melissa as she climbed behind the wheel of the car he'd bought for her. He was already paying half of her rent as well as that of his other baby mommas, in addition to other financial obligations. He may not want to be tied down by the women who had his children, but he was never going to slack on his responsibilities.
Melissa didn't respond before starting her car and driving off.
Maverick snorted and climbed behind the wheel of his Mustang. His sons strapped in their car seats in the back. Both wearing identical Lords of Chaos baby cuts. A gift from their grandmother, his mom. Melissa's parents were both dead, which was probably a reason why he'd given her more patience dealing with her shit than anyone else.
He drove to the clubhouse and checked out the number of motorcycles that lined the parking lot and smirked because it seemed like the whole club was there. There was one vehicle there that stood out among all thechrome and steel. It was a lilac Porshe convertible and a white top. Maverick climbed out of his car with his twins in the car seats and walked over to the unfamiliar car and peeked inside. The interior was white and lilac, obviously a custom job.
“There’s only one person I know who this could belong to,” Maverick said to himself with a chuckle. He walked in clubhouse with his sons and was immediately swarmed by hang-arounds and club brothers as they snatched his boys from their seats to fawn over them. Maverick laughed and left them in their care. He trusted the members of the Lords wholeheartedly as they were also his family. And anyone hanging with them had proven their loyalty.
“What's up, Mav?” Ace said as he approached him for a club handshake and hug.
“Shit, nothing much. Looks like the whole club is here. What’s the occasion?” Maverick asked as he looked around. The place was laid back, music playing in the background. Some members played pool, and others mingled over beverages and snacks.
“Just the club being the club, nothing special.” Ace frowned. “What the fuck happened to your face?” he asked, motioning to Maverick’s cheek Melissa had reddened with her slap.
Maverick snorted. “Melissa lashing out. It’s nothing.”
“Knowing you, it probably turned you on,” Ace commented.
Maverick laughed. “Is that Gina’s car out there?” He pointed a thumb at the door.
Ace nodded. “Yeah, Shotgun got it for her. She’s been beaming about it.”
“Good, my twin deserves to get everything she wants, especially from her Old Man,” Maverick said approvingly.
“Hell yeah,” Ace agreed, as he also spoiled his Property Of, Ahiga.
“What about you, what are you about to do?” Maverick asked.
“I'm headed to work, but before I go, let me say hi to my nephews,” Ace said. He walked over to the babies and took them both into his arms from the people who were holding them.
Maverick took the opportunity to play a game of pool with Burger, who had a fresh black eye. “What the fuck happened to you?” he asked.
Burger chuckled. “You should have been there, brother. Nine, Cowboy, and I kicked ass at Hog's bar last night.”
“Fuck, I missed a brawl? What happened?” Maverick asked as he lined up his shot.
“Some bitch ass fuckers started shit with Cowboy over some chick he was hitting on. Apparently, she was one of those assholes’ girlfriend. Nine broke a bottle over the dude's head and that kicked it off. You know how he is about his older brother,” Burger said with a chuckle.
Maverick laughed. “Anyone die?”
Burger shook his head. “I got this shiner because one of those assholes threw a cheap shot when I protected the chick in question. Sometimes, I wish women would just get the fuck out of the way when men are handling business.”
Maverick laughed. “Unless they're a hardcore ride-or-die bitch who can take a punch.”
Burger laughed and nodded. “She wasn't that type, just screaming and in the way.”
