Dasan frowned. “This is the first time we've ever even considered allowing a cop to enter the MC—”

“Ex-cop,” Ajay interjected.

“Interrupt me again and you'll be a dead cop,” Dasan warned.

Ajay remained silent.

Dasan continued. “Understand, I would have kicked TT out if not for Dragon putting in a good word for you. Had TT chosen you over the club, it was going to be it for him had Dragon also been against you. So, thank him the next time you meet.”

“I will, sir.” Ajay nodded.

“According to Dragon, you never ratted on us and I saw the recording. You're good and you kept your word. Just know, I'm holding on to that insurance plan just in case you pull any more stunts,” Dasan warned.

“I promise I won't. Like I said, I quit my job today. Turned in my Letter of Resignation and everything. I'm no longer a DEA agent,” Ajay said.

Dasan nodded. “Is that why you're out early?”

Ajay nodded. “They took me off the case when they found out I'd been fucking TT.”

Dasan half snorted at that. “Is that all they saw?”

Ajay nodded. “If they saw anything else, I wouldn't be standing here right now.”

“Does TT know that you're out?” Maverick asked.

Ajay shook his head. “No, I wasn't given the chance to tell him. I need to let him know that I didn't just leave and that I’m okay.”

“When will you visit him?” Dasan asked.

“Can't get access for at least two weeks. I'm just a normal citizen now and considering I betrayed the DEA, no one is doing me any favors,” Ajay said. “I'm sure they'll try to delay me getting visitation rights as long as possible.”

Dasan nodded once. “We'll pull some strings.”

“I appreciate that, sir,” Ajay said and he meant it.

“Cowboy, call the warden back and tell him to let TT know his boyfriend is out and with us,” Dasan said.

“Will do,” Cowboy said, then did was he was told.

Ajay smiled, his shoulders released some... some of their tension. He still wasn't fully relaxed. “Thank you.”

Maverick had watched the conversation between Ajay and his father and knew his dad was sizing the man up, judging him just like every member of the Lords was. They'd voted to allow Ajay to prospect and hadn't expected to be meeting the man this soon, but he was happy to finally see him face-to-face. The man who had claimed Tiny Tim's heart. The man who had one of their most loyal brothers willing to walk away from the club—his family—for him. But more importantly, Maverick respected the fact that Ajay didn't want that, which was why he'd been willing to kill the CO to prove that he was club material.

Maverick had watched the video and was impressed with the smooth efficiency with which Ajay killed. It was cold-blooded even if Ajay didn't admit or realize it. He was a killer and Maverick wondered if the club would make Ajay an enforcer. If so, if the man could pass his prospecting period, and depending on how he handled this beatdown, he'd back him. He continued to listen as the conversation went on.

“There’s one morething. I had been assigned to the prison, but the DEA has other agents undercover. I don’t know who they are or where they’ve been planted,” Ajay said, giving the Lords all of the information he was privy to.

“These motherfuckers keep trying to get us,” Maverick snarled.

“They won’t,” Dasan said. “That’s good info we can use.” He would be passing that along to the Castiellos and other chapters.

“Those rats will be exposed,” Burger said with a sneer.

Dasan nodded and looked Ajay up and down. “I believe that you're ready to be a Lord, but we still need to talk, but first... you have a debt to pay.”

Ajay sighed. “Do I just take it—”

“Fuck no. I want to see what you're made of with my own eyes. Just know, we won't take it easy on you,” Dasan said, then cracked his knuckles. “Someone go get Ace, because I know he wants a piece of this one.”
