Maverick snorted but stepped aside to let the man enter before closing the door. The music was turned down and all eyes were onAjay. Maverick stepped back in front of Ajay and began to check the man for weapons and wires.
“Do you have any sneaky wires on you? Shit we can’t tell is a wire?” Maverick asked as he looked at the button on Ajay’s jeans.
Ajay shook his head. “No. I’d never do that, I swear. I’ll strip naked if you think you can’t trust me.”
“I don’t trust you,” Maverick snapped. “But TT does, so I’ll take your word for it.” He checked Ajay out again and even though he wasn’t into men, he could see what caught TT’s eye. “So, just how are you going to pay your debt to us?”
Ajay licked his lips. “Dragon told me that I had to go through a beatdown. But first—”
Maverick swung, striking Ajay on the jaw hard enough to make the man stumble and fall back against the door. Ajay groaned and rubbed his jaw as he looked at Maverick. “I haven't even started yet,” he said, then cracked his knuckles.
“Hold up, son,” Dasan said, and Maverick didn't make any more moves. The president of the Lords of Chaos Original Orlando chapter walked up to Ajay along with several other members. Maverick watched the transaction between his dad and their newest prospect and wondered if the beatdown was still going to happen. He hoped so, because he had wanted to kick Ajay's ass the moment he found out the bastard had infiltrated their club.
Ajay swallowed and stood up straight. “Hello, Mr. Murphy,” he said as if he wasn't sure if that was how he should address the president.
“Didn't expect to be seeing you so soon,” Dasan said.
“I know,” Ajay said. “First, I wanted to let you know something.”
Dasan held his hand up silencing Ajay. “Get the babies out of here and everyone who isn't wearing a fucking patch on their back, clear the room,” Dasan said thencrossed his arms over his chest and gave Ajay a scrutinizing inspection. Once the room was clear and only the Lords remained, he continued. “There was a lot of debate about whether or not we should let you join after what you did.”
“I... I know, sir,” Ajay said.
“What is it you wanted to tell me?” Dasan bit out.
“My husband said something that made me concerned,” Ajay said.
“You have a fucking husband?” Maverick blurted out.
Ajay looked at him. “We're not together. And I've already filed for divorce, but that's not the issue.”
“Does TT know?” Dasan asked.
Ajay nodded. “I told him everything.”
Dasan nodded. “What do you want to tell me about him?”
“He's jealous that I'm with Tim and kind of made a vague reference about how anything could happen to a man in prison. I'm worried that he's going to try to set Tim up. Not sure how, could be to get him killed or plant some shit on him that may get Tim more years,” Ajay said.
“He tries that shit, he will pay,” Dasan warned.
“And I'll make him pay,” Ajay promised.
“Oh, will you?” Dasan asked, one eyebrow cocked.
“I love Tim and I won't let him come between us. That's why I'm telling you,” Ajay said.
“Why don't you take care of your husband now before he can fuck with our brother?” Maverick asked. He believed in eliminating a problem before it became a problem.
“Because it would look very suspicious since I'm asking for a divorce if something happened to him. But if I must, then I will,” Ajay said.
“We take care of our own. Get word to TT and Dragon to let them know,” Dasan said.
“I'm on it,” said Cowboy as he pulled out his cell phone. He stepped away to make the call to the warden who, after Dasan and Maverick’s visit, was very agreeable.
Dasan looked at Ajay. “Thanks for telling us.”
“Yes, sir.” Ajay nodded.
