I rest one of my hands on his shoulder and intertwine our fingers with the other. His free hand rests on my hip.

Together, we start to slowly sway to the music.

“I love this song,” I breathe, enjoying everything about this moment.

“I had a feeling you would,” he smiles. “This would make a great first dance song, don’t you think?”

I look at him in surprise. “Thinking about marriage already, Casanova?”

His responding smile is so soft and sweet. “Of course I am. We’ve already talked about having kids, Lucia. What makes you think I wouldn’t want to marry you, too?”

“You never really seemed like the marrying type,” I admit.

“I also wasn’t the type to have a girlfriend and settle down, but look at me now. You’ve changed everything, sweetheart.”

I grin at him. “So you really want to marry me one day?”

Ari pulls me closer, pressing our bodies flush together. “Absolutely. I told you this is forever. Forever means I want marriage and kids with you andonlyyou.”

I rest my forehead against his. “That sounds perfect, Ari.”

We spend the rest of the song in silence, just swaying to the beat of the music.

But silence doesn’t have to mean quiet.

My mind is alive right now with thoughts of our future, and every single glimpse makes me fall even more in love with Ari Morgan.

“Let’sgo,Pierce!”Ishout from the dugout, watching Cole get ready for the pitch from the Miami Sharks’ starting pitcher.

Man’s on fire this season, so of course, he ends up with a solo home run.

Josh, Lane, and Knox watch from beside me.

“Cole keeps this up,” Knox says, “and we’ll be seeing him in the Home Run Derby next month.”

“That’s his sixteenth of the season,” I say, “and it’s only the beginning of June. He’ll definitely be there. After he passes a ‘random’ drug test, I’m sure.”

Lane tips his head back and laughs. “You might be right there with him, Ari.”

“Yesterday was your twelfth, right?” Josh asks.

“Yeah. Having a damn good season so far.”

Knox keeps facing forward with a playful smirk. “I’m sure that doesn’t have anything to do with a certain trainer.”

I chuckle. “Of course it does. Happier now than I’ve ever been.”

“At least now you get to live out your own romance novel,” Lane teases.

“Morgan!” I turn around to see Lucia with her hands on her hips. “You’re supposed to be working on your hip flexors. Chop chop.”

She turns on her heel and walks over to help Nathan and Greg with something.

“She’s certainly not giving you any special treatment,” Josh laughs.
