Panic was hammering at my chest so hard that my entire body shook. Presley puked up blood onto the mat.
Blood.
Fucking blood.
“Kingston,” Scotty snapped, then he glanced at Alex. “You could have said something to me, Alexandria.”
I heard my sister scoff. “No one can say anything to you, Scotty.”
Presley wiped her mouth and got back into her combat stance. She was going to keep fighting. She was going to kill herself and Scotty wasn’t going to stop her. Using my shoulders and my elbows to shove, I hit flesh as hard as I could until there was an opening and I lunged forward.
Presley’s eyes grew wide in horror. “King, get out of here.”
“No.” I raised my fists in a defensive stance, but within seconds, someone landed a blow to my side, like they did to Presley. I went down instantly, but I rolled out of the way and jumped up.
“Kingston!” Presley’s worry had her turning toward me, allowing someone to land a hit to her stomach, which had her doubling over.
My body was shaking so badly that I felt like I was going to throw up. I think I was screaming, but I wasn’t sure. Scotty was yelling something too, but the men kept coming for us, so it wasn’t to stop. Suddenly someone’s fist landed in my face, near my eye. I winced in pain, trying to roll, but their fist came back down.
I heard Presley screaming, but my vision was coated in blood. Their fist came down again, and I knew something was wrong; there was too much blood. My eyebrow had completely busted open.
I knew people were still yelling, but suddenly it all stopped, and it was just Presley’s hiccups that I could hear, and then there was Scotty…he was angry.
The pounding against my body stopped and I felt Presley crawl over to me. “Oh, King, this isgoing to scar.”
Her fingers were gentle on my face, but I was still confused how she’d made everyone stop. That’s when I felt soft fabric wipe my eyes, and I was able to make out what happened.
There were two men lying in puddles of blood on the mats and my brother stood over me, holding twin knives, dripping red.
My brother’s glare was pinned to Scotty, with a murderous expression. He’d stabbed them to get to us.
“You want to try and kill my brother and Presley, then fine, but you’ll have to kill me too.”
Scotty gestured toward me on the ground. “Kingston thought he could interfere as well but lasted all of two seconds. Meanwhile, Presley has lasted an hour.”
She’d been at it for a whole hour? Fucking shit.
“Yeah, well, my brother plays by the rules. I don’t.”
Scotty let that hang in the air between them, knowing two of his men had already been stabbed.
Scotty’s men groaned from the ground, trying to hold their sides together. There was so much blood that I wasn’t sure who or how we’d clean all this up. “She can be done for the day. But let me be clear about one thing. Presley will not break unless it’s you two doing the breaking.”
The men around the ring had already dispersed, and the threats were gone so I rolled over to check on Presley. She’d shed her shirt to help me wipe my eyes and was in just her sports bra, but she had her arms crossed over her stomach and was turned away from us.
“You hurt anywhere else,mi reina?” I gently touched her face and prodded at her arm.
Gio was next to her too, and we looked her over. She winced as she tried to move, which had Gio gently pulling her closer. Her entire left side was black and blue.
I didn’t process it fast enough, but Gio’s eyes narrowed on the bruise, his nose flared and then he spun and let his hand fly. A knife sailed from his hand and was buried in Scotty’s shoulder within theblink of an eye. Reaper, the fucking dog I’d witnessed rip out a man’s throat, turned its head and darted for my brother.
“Gio. Kill him!”
“NO!” Presley screamed, trying to sit up. She was worried about the dog.
The fucking demon that ripped someone’s throat out. He was still running toward us when Scotty yelled a word in German and the dog immediately stopped and laid down.
“What the fuck is going on in here?” My dad appeared with Alex on his heels, tears streaming down her face. I felt bad for how panicked she must have been.
