I gestured for him to follow me to the kitchen, “Coffee?”

“Please” he said quietly, still overwhelmed. We’d talk more after coffee and a shower.

Alex called out from the kitchen, “Just made a pot.” and took his cup through to the dining nook where we’d put the new table. After putting his cup down, he approached Andy with his hand out to shake. “Hey, you must be Will’s boyfriend. Andy, right? I’m Alex, Will’s brother.”

Andy looked stunned but still shook Alex’s hand before clumsily dropping onto a seat at the table. “Hi, Alex. Nice to meet you.”

“Sorry, sweetheart. I forgot to say Alex would be here this morning.”

Clearly worried that he was coming off as rude, Andy roused from his shock. “Sorry, Alex. It’s been a strange day already. How’re you? You settling in okay here?”

Leaving them to chat, I went to get Andy some coffee and see what there was for breakfast. Andy needed food in him soon or he’d get hangry. I’d heard the others in the office joke about it before when Andy’d been on the warpath after missing lunch. My man was a grouch when he got hungry.

Finding some pastries, I put them on a plate and took it and Andy’s mug of coffee over to him. He was making Alex laugh at a work anecdote. A feeling of rightness stole over me at seeing them get along so well and so quickly after meeting.

Sharing a shower to save time was intimate and sweet. Also frustrating because there was no time for anything other than washing each other. This would just make it better later, when I could take my time exploring his body, mapping it with my tongue.

Back in the car for the ride to work, Andy seemed lighter. Like having breakfast with my brother had been the final piece in the puzzle that was our relationship.

“So you talked to your brother about me?” He asked, breaking his silence.

“I did. Is that okay? I watched him nod out of the corner of my eye, not willing to take my attention off of the slippery roads. The rain of the day before had turned to ice with the overnight frost.

“Alex suggested that I include the drawing.”

“That was his idea? I love how you see me.” His voice broke. “I’m so happy that I agreed to that date.”

“So am I, love.”

Thirty Three - Andy

In the space of less than a day, Will had blown my mind by letting me top, telling me he loved me - first, no less. Then he’d insisted I stay with him all weekend! I thought I was going to cry when he asked for a key to be made for me. It was so thoughtful of him, making sure I felt free to come and go as needed.

I don’t think Will could really grasp how messed up some of my relationships had made me. So this idea of having freedom was amazing. It wasn’t just that I could come and go. It was the idea that he wanted me around and was sharing his space with me.

Meeting his brother was a big deal to me but they were both so casual about it. Alex was important to Will. They were only just re-establishing their bond but I knew that Will would pick me over Alex. I came first to him. It was there in how closely he stood, his hand on the small of my back. In the way he sat close at breakfast, making me take first pick of the food.

Still, I relished the chance to meet his family. I’d been hidden away before. Kept a secret. Jason didn’t have anyone close to him, which looking back, had been a red flag. So Will openly talking about me, seeking his brother’s advice, made my heart melt. If I hadn’t already fallen for him, this would’ve pushed me over the edge.

“When we get to work, I think we should visit HR and tell them about us.” Will suddenly suggested, “I know it isn’t against the rules, but I don’t want to hide what we have. We did that before. Or rather, I told you to hide us.” he paused, “I want this to be a proper fresh start. So that I can give you all that you said you wanted.”

“And what was that?” I teased. “Other than your dick, I mean.”

He laughed but quickly sobered. “Dates, friends, family, as boyfriends.

My heart stuttered in my chest, “Will…I just wanted you. That’s all that matters to me. I don’t want to force you to do things just to make me happy.”

“The thing is, this is making me happy. I want to tell everyone that you’re mine. My inner caveman wants to claim you so everyone can see that you belong to me. I want our colleagues, friends and family to see that you love me and I love you. You aren’t forcing me to do a thing, babe.”

“I love that.”

“What?”

“The way you call me babe, or sweetheart, or love. It’s the best feeling when I hear it.”

“Which is why we have to tell HR so we can be open at work.”

“They’re going to lose their shit.”
