He chuckled.“I love you too.So much.”He kissed her again before stepping back.“I should go.”

“You should.”

He chuckled.“I don’t want to.”

She laughed with him.“Me neither, but I think those guys are starting to get impatient.”

He turned, and they both laughed at the sight of the guys all standing in a row, arms folded, giving them mock scowls.

“Where’s Callie?”Jacob asked as they rejoined the others.

“She’s saying goodnight to Ava,” Willow told him.“We’re going to go back to the cottage with Hannah and Ava for a little while, since Slade persuaded Grady to at least have a drink with you guys.”

Becca loved the way everyone looked out for each other. When Callie gave Ava a hug and set out toward them, Jacob murmured beside her, “Is she aware that Ollie’s interested?”

Becca smiled at the sight of Ollie who was just about to climb into the passenger seat of Reaves’s SUV but had paused to watch Callie.“I think so.”

Jacob raised his eyebrows.

“We’ll have to wait and see.”She frowned when she saw that Elena’s car was still there.“Is Elena up at the house?”

Slade grinned.“Nope.Walt gave her a ride home so that she could have a glass of wine at dinner.”

“More than that,” added Xander.“He said that since tomorrow’s a kind of date for them, he’s going to go and pick her up.”

“Aww!”Becca grinned at Jacob.“Isn’t that awesome?I’m so glad you insisted that she should take the day off.”

He nodded happily.“I felt bad about it at first – she wanted to be in her kitchen, feeding everyone – but the caterers would only stress her out.”

“I invited her and Walt to come to the house – so that the families can walk out there together when it’s time.”

Jacob held her gaze.“Thank you.”

Chapter Eighteen

Reaves was surprised to see the gate standing wide open when he arrived at the Jacobs estate early on Saturday morning. He brought his SUV to a stop, and John came out and greeted him with a smile.

“You’re here early. You’re not flying, are you?”

“No, I…” He only hesitated for a moment. There was no point in hiding what he was up to; he was sure people already knew.“I’m here to pick up Zia.”

John gave him a puzzled look.

“Alara’s going to be working on the arch all morning – putting the flowers on.And with so many people milling around…”

John laughed.“Man, I wish I’d known. She could have come and hung out here on the gate with me.I love that kid.”

Reaves chuckled.“I’m not sorry I beat you to it – isn’t she awesome?”

“Yeah, and as envious as I am, she’ll be better off hanging out with you.I’ll be busy with people coming in.But wait — you said you’re picking her up?You’re not going to hang out here with her?”

“I’m taking her over to see my dad.”

John looked even more puzzled.

“Slade told her that my dad lives in a castle.”He shrugged.

“Ah, right.Given the way she’s been naming everyone as if we’re all the characters from a fairy-tale kingdom, I get why she’d love to go see a real castle. And Slade’s not wrong, is he?Your dad’s place could be a castle.”
