There was a look of slight worry in Daisy’s big eyes as her hands fiddled with the hem of her dress. My eyes couldn’t help but wander down to her thighs, seeing the skin of her tanned legs. Could she tell I was interested?
But she hated athletes. According to Asher, she thought she was better than all of us. Maybe that was why she looked so damn uncomfortable sitting across from me. We made eye contact suddenly. Did she even remember me from the other night? Most girls did. But most of my experiences with girls were positive. Those few minutes I had spent with Daisy had been the opposite of that. Daisy’s cheeks went a little pink as I stared right at her. She was blushing right before me and I needed to see more of that. Even if she thought she was too good for me.
“Alright, alright, everyone hush now,” Brie announced, slowly standing up. Her eyes lit up when Asher stepped over to her, his hands on her hips. “Is everyone ready to start the game? I know me and Asher are. Right, babe?”
I held back a snort as they shared a quick kiss.
“Right.” Asher sat down next to me, pulling Brie into his lap. She let out a squeal in the process. “Who’s going first?”
“Ooh, me!” Brie answered.
“Alright. Truth or dare?”
“Hm. Dare.”
“I dare you to show everyone what you have under that dress,” Asher spoke up, voice as confident as ever.
With a smile on her face, Brie stood up, her hands pulling up her short dress. And there it was. She showed off the barely there panties she had on, shaking her hips slowly in the process.
I didn’t miss the way Brie looked over at me, a little twinkle in her eyes. She had never been subtle with her weird crush on me. All I did was take a sip of my beer as the sound of claps and whistles hit my ears. Briereallywasn’t my type, so the sight wasn’t exactly impressive.
There was someone else I would have preferred to see – without the audience, though. My eyes landed on Daisy. On the blushing, little Daisy. She looked kinda scandalized. This was probably her first college party. The other night didn’t count since she literally ran away. And it seemed like it was gonna be her last party, too. She looked uncomfortable as hell.
“Okay, now it’s my turn to ask.” Brie pulled her dress down and sat on Asher’s lap again. She looked right at Daisy. “Truth or dare?”
Daisy cleared her throat. “M-Me?”
“Yeah, you.” Brie waved a hand at her. “Truth or dare?”
Okay, it suddenly got interesting. There was no way Daisy would pick dare. She didn’t seem like the type.
“T-Truth,” Daisy said quietly.
I knew it.
“Okay, let me think.” Brie pouted, tapping a finger against her chin.
“Wait, I have an idea,” Asher suddenly said, a grin on his face. “Me and Daisy go way back. Don’t we, Daisy? I think I know a good question for you.” He moved his lips to Brie’s ear, whispering something to her.
“Oh, that’s a good one.” Brie pressed her hands together. “Okay, here it is. Daisy, do you spit or swallow?”
There was a chorus of laughs in the room. Brie giggled, looking especially happy with what she had just said. Asher looked proud too. But Daisy? Daisy’s face went bright red, her eyes stuck on the floor. Leena frowned, her eyes very clearly rolling.
I shifted in my seat and glared over at Asher and Brie. “That’s not cool. Don’t ask shit like that.”
“It’s a game,” Asher snapped before looking back at Daisy. “Well, answer the question. You spit or swallow, Daisy? Do you even know what that means?”
“Wait, are you avirgin?” Brie said the last word like it was the most shocking thing she had ever heard.
“Knock it off,” I hissed, keeping my eyes on Daisy. It was obvious she was uncomfortable. Who wouldn’t be? “Stop asking stupid fucking questions.”
“Why do you care?” Brie scoffed.
“You wanna be the one to see if she spits or swallows, Evan?” Asher eyed me carefully. “Is that it? Actually, do it and report back. I’m kinda curious what it’s like to fuck someone with a stutter.”
That was enough for Daisy. The laughter was everywhere as she sat up, storming through the crowd and right out of the room. Her friend stayed seated, eyes darkening as she looked over at Brie.
“You’re a fucking asshole,” I barked at Asher. I set my beer down quick, still hearing the cruel laughter in my head as I followed Daisy through the living room. My hands pushed some of the guys out of the way, determined to find Daisy and make sure she was okay. Asher was a goddamn prick for putting her through that.
