“Yes, I rather think I have,” Anna replied, squeezing Katherine’s hand in return. She looked around, realising they had passed the visitor centre entirely and proceeded further on to Abbey Barn. “We’ve missed our stop.”
Katherine paused. “No, we haven’t. I led you here to make a proposal. Since it was originally my idea and I have yet to make one.”
Anna turned to face her. “You know I’ll say yes to anything you ask.”
“We get married here at the abbey. I can’t think of anywhere nicer than the barn for a wedding breakfast. I’d have to check with our rather sexy events manager, but I think we have our pick of dates.”
“I’ll have to check my diary.” Anna leaned forward and placed her lips against Katherine’s.
Her birthday felt so long ago, and the summer belonged to another aeon. So much had happened since she met Dr Atkinson, and she could not wait to spend every lovely, long, and even frustrating moment with her.
