My tone is husky as I regard my woman broken before me, painted in my name.

I drag a cloth from my pocket, wiping her clean carefully as she sighs, “This is so beautiful up here.”

“It sure is.” I regard her ass with possessive pride, knowing Matteo had her first, but I got one of my own.

“You didn’t warn me.”

“Would it have made a difference?”

“I would have been scared.”

“Do you regret it?”

I massage her ass, dropping light kisses on the exposed skin, and she sighs with contentment. “I trust you honey, I always will.”

Something tugs hard at my heart. Was it the endearing name, or the fact that she trusts me? Both collided like a wrecking ball to my heart. Nobody has ever got me there before, and now I understand thepower she holds. Taylor may be younger, more inexperienced and from nothing, but somehow, she transcends us to a level I doubt I will ever reach.

Gently, I pull up her jeans, guiltily remembering I tore off her panties, wondering where they ended up as I search for them with my eyes.

I tug her back, wrapping my arms around her from behind, lightly draping her hair over one side of her neck, while I dip my lips to her skin on the other. My kisses are light this time, almost loving, and as I enjoy the sunrise with the woman I am obsessed with, life couldn’t get any better if it tried for a thousand years.

Chapter Forty-Seven

Matteo

I’m antsy as hell as I wait for Taylor to emerge from the shower. Giorgio is unpredictable at the best of times, and I’m aware of his desperation concerning her. As soon as they returned from the early morning ride, Giorgio headed to the gym and Taylor to the shower.

Now it’s my turn before I head back to Vegas, to meetings that were scheduled months ago that I can’t escape. I accept that this is our life now. It’s why I insisted on her nights because they are my own, my days are not. Our empire doesn’t run itself. I’m a careful captain of our ship, and most days are spent steering it through the choppy seas of Vegas, always plotting, planning and negotiating so we remain the best hotel in town. Guarding our millions and ensuring we remain the untouchables.

Taylor will be living here most of the time unless she prefers to be at the penthouse. Wherever she is, one of us will be in attendance. Unlike Loretta, Taylor will have nofreedom from us, despite what it says above the door of the ranch.

Nobody will ever get to our girl, not while we breathe, and despite my aversion to sharing her, I’m mindful it is for the best, to keep her safe.

She wanders into the kitchen with a happy smile.

“Hey.” She wastes no time in heading my way, planting a soft kiss on my lips. She tastes of toothpaste and happiness, and I cup her face in my hand and stare into her eyes, devouring every inch of her perfection, imprinting it on my mind.

“I missed you, baby girl.”

“I missed you too.” She kisses me softly, reluctant to stop even for a minute, it seems. I feel the same and am impatient to claim her again, and as her stomach growls, it reminds me we must eat first.

“Come, breakfast is on the terrace. We may as well make the most of the better weather before winter sets in.”

“I expect it’s as beautiful here then as it is now.”

“Better sometimes.”

I point to the fireplace as we pass on the route to the terrace.

“It’s enticing when the fire is burning hot and the glass is closed against the lashing rain. The mountain view is a different one, even more dramatic. You will love it.”

“I already do.”

She squeezes my hand, and as we head outside, Iwrap a soft blanket around her shoulders to ward off the chill of the morning air.

“You’re such a gentleman, Matteo.” She smiles her appreciation, and as I sit beside her, I drop another kiss on her sweet lips.

“Only for you, baby girl. Always only for you.”
