minutes?”

There was a short burst of laughter before Lala replied.

“You got it, Chlo. I’m just going to grab my bathing suit. If you need anything, I’ll be at the pool.”

Several seconds later, Chloe heard the door to their villa close.

Jack left shortly after that with Chloe’s number in his phone. She didn’t have a phone to text him with, but that would be remedied as soon as she was back in Toronto.

“Have a safe flight, Chlo.” He gave her a warm hug and a quick kiss before heading out.

“Thank you.” She smiled. “I hope you and Daniel enjoy the rest of your trip.”

He grinned back. “Something tells me we’re going to enjoy it a whole lot less without you and Lala around.”

Afterwards, Chloe packed up her bags, dropped them with the concierge, and headed to the pool.

She and Lala were stretched out on loungers soaking up their last opportunity to grab some rays. Chloe’s carry-on bag sat beside her, and they both had lime margaritas.

Lala had given her a proper ribbing about Jack and then pressed her for all the details. She had also dished on her day with Daniel.

“This has been the best trip ever.” Lala raised her glass in toast. “To best friends, beach days, and hot men!”

“Ladies,” a sixty-something-year-old man walking by shot them a sexy smile, “I’m flattered.”

The girls looked at each other in horror and then burst into giggles when the man, who was now walking with a lot more swagger, was out of sight.

They lay back down and Lala started scrolling on her phone.

Chloe’s mind wandered to when she and Lala had first arrived at the resort. A smirk came to her lips at the memory of how she and Lala had reacted upon realizing they were staying at a naturist resort. Despite initially being more than a little freaked out, Chloe had quickly gotten used to it and found all the other guests to be friendly and, surprisingly, pretty normal. Aside from the whole no-clothes thing. She still didn’t understand their lifestyle but, she realized, she didn’t have to. It all boileddown to respecting other people’s choices even if they weren’t her thing.

A thought suddenly struck her.

It was their last day at the resort, and while she had experienced most of what Costa Morpho had to offer, there was still one thing left.

“Lala?” She sat up and looked at her friend.

Lala turned her head and pulled up her sunglasses.

“What’s up?”

“It’s our last day here and all.” She took a moment. “And I feel like there’s still one thing we have to do.”

Her friend gave her a quizzical look.

Chloe reached behind her back and undid the bow holding her bikini ties together before reaching for the tie around her neck.

“Yessssssss!” Lala said loudly. She pumped her fist in victory as Chloe pulled off her top and held it in the air. “She did it!!!”

This was it. She had done it. She was naked from her bikini bottoms up. She was Chloe—unbound and unwound—and she was feeling exhilarated.

She became aware all at once of people around her clapping and hollering in support of her carpe diem moment. Chloe blushed at the attention before taking a seated mock bow as Lala pulled her top off too.

“That’s the spirit!” someone yelled from the pool.

“Solidarity, my friend,” Lala said with a grin. “Fuck. When I think back to the state you were in in February, if someone had told me seven months later you would be topless at a nude resort after having a hot vacation fling, I would have called the psych ward.”

Chloe smiled.
