Today, the scent of Parker's essence was less noticeable than it had been the day before, but no less delectable. I'd tasted him. He was a part of me now, and his scent mingled with the air in the room. If I had my way, my enclosure would stink of sex. I wanted to add Parker's intoxicating aroma to every room. Then I wanted to do it again after each weekly cleaning, so his scent would sink into the books, the fabric, the very essence of my life.
I turned the water to cold, trying to wash some sense back into my thoughts. I didn't wax poetic about anyone, especially not the roommate I'd dragged from the human realm for one purpose and one purpose only.
Well. I'd thought it was sex, but if that was all it took, Aidan should have arrived before we made it to the shower to return my lovely rooms back to my gorgeous little cottage in the fae realm.
Unless Aidan had been too afraid to show his face after the basilisk incident …
I rushed through my shower, tossed on my garment, and ran through the dark bedroom. I threw open the door, not even caring that it banged against the wall. I charged forward, almost tripping on the entryway carpet, stumbling toward — myreflection in the glass. Fuck. I'd taken my solid ironwood door for granted all those years. Now, I would give anything to see it again.
Anything but Parker.
I sank to my knees and stared at my reflection in the glass. Was this what love looked like? What it felt like? If we left the menagerie, someone else might stumble upon the fae luck coin. If that happened, Parker would never make his way home.
Somehow, I needed to escape the enclosure, find the coin, and send Parker home where he belonged, before I fell any further in lo — in like with him.
In the meantime, I would do whatever he wanted to keep him happy. I hoped that included sex. Lots and lots of sex.
The next monthpassed in a sex-crazed haze. It was hard for us to keep our hands off each other during viewing hours. Still, our audience could tell something had changed between us, from the speedy signs flashing between the cuddlebugs. They were happy for us, but more and more, they repeated the sign for, "Kiss, kiss, kiss!"
"We're not here for your entertainment," I signed back.
They shook, I assumed from laughter. I couldn't hear their conversation with my mother, but from the way she shook her head, they must have told her what I'd said.
"Your mom says you will have privacy, in time. For now, she said you might get out of here quicker, if you kissed."
If it was as easy as kissing Parker with an audience, I would have been set free the moment Chani walked in on us in the shower a week ago. They'd shrieked and disappeared for anhour, and when they returned, they didn't speak to us, even when Parker asked how their week had been.
"We do more than kiss in private." I felt terrible signing the words to a child, even though said child was probably decades older than Parker.
Once Mother received the message, she glared at me over the rim of her reading glasses and flashed a sign of her own. "Prove it."
I gave her the universal hand wave, "come here," but she only laughed and shook her head.
"What was all that about?" Parker asked when we finally had been excused to the kitchen table for lunch.
I shrugged. "Mother, being Mother."
He nodded. "I think I'm ready to take it to the next level."
I tried to swallow and inhale at the same time, and the sip of soup I'd taken went down the wrong way. I choked on it for a good minute. Fae didn't die easily, but that only meant we spent a lot longer near death for mundane slips like that.
"Are you all right?" Parker didn't know what to do for me, since my wings blocked him from most choking remedies.
"Fine," I muttered between coughs. "Peachy. How about we don't share life-altering information while trying to eat, for future reference?"
He ducked his head and laughed, and a pretty hue of pink tinged his cheeks. "Sorry."
"Tell me exactly what you want."
"I want you to ride my cock."
Thank all the gods I knew better than to take another spoonful of soup before that revelation. Still, my breath caught in my throat and my heart pounded harder with each beat.
"I want to lie on my back while you show me how it's done," he continued. "I want to see your face when you come undone."
"Yes." It would break me, but I couldn't deny him anything, not when he'd gone without his entire life. "I can do that."
"After you finish eating?"
