Something feels off. This uneasy feeling settles over me, making my skin crawl. I don’t like it.
“What’s wrong?” Lulu asks, giving my hand a squeeze.
Blinking, I shake my head and look down at her. “I feel off,” I grunt, not sure what is going on with me.
Everything's been fine for the past few hours. We went out, explored, and had a good time.
I’ve been missing Ally, wishing she were here with us, but she was exhausted. She needed that extra rest, and I know she would have been pissed if we stayed because of her.
But now I’m starting to think we shouldn’t have left her there alone.
“Are you okay? Do you feel sick?” she asks, brows furrowed in worry.
I shake my head. “It’s hard to explain. I just know something is wrong.” I rub at my chest, not sure what this aching feeling is.
“You okay?” Liam asks, realizing we’re falling behind.
“Call Ally.”
He doesn’t ask why, instantly going on guard as he grabs his phone and calls her. “Fuck,” he growls. “Nothing. Went to voicemail.” He tries calling again. “Damn it. I’m calling Nial.” He’s the guard we left stationed outside our hotel room.
My gut turns as worry fills me, this uneasy feeling growing stronger and stronger by the second.
“I need you to go in and check on Ally, now,” Liam growls, moving forward, heading towards our hotel. Grabbing Lulu’s hand, Gavin, Nate, and I all follow after him.
“Is she okay?” Lulu asks. “What’s going on?”
“I don’t know. I just have this bad feeling,” I tell her.
“Fuck!” Liam roars and breaks out into a run.
Nausea fills me as we start to run after him.
“Oh god,” Lulu whimpers.
“What the fuck is going on?” I growl, demanding he answer.
“She’s in heat. Nial says it’s bad. She’s crying, in pain. Fuck! We shouldn’t have left her. Not this close to her heat.”
Guilt hits me like a five-ton bag of bricks, and panic seeps in. Ally is alone in her hotel room, in heat.
I need to get to her. I need to make the pain go away. The idea of her being scared and alone makes me sick.
Out of breath and frazzled, we make it back to the hotel ten minutes later. We take the back way in and up the employees' elevator.
The space around us is tense; everyone is anxious to get to our Omega.
“I’m going to find another room for the next few days, but I will be in and out to check on you all, okay? Let me know if you need anything,” Gavin says when we make it to our floor.
“Thank you,” Liam grunts before taking off down the hall.
“Are you sure?”
“Go.” He nods. “Your Omega needs you.”
Giving him a quick hug, I take off towards her room.
As soon as I’m in the room, I’m met with the sounds of her cries. They’re going to haunt me forever.
