He opened the door and stepped out of the room. Regis handed him the phone. “Alpha?”
“The Alpha Mate wants to take Richard and Vitas to Zachary’s. It’s a tradition for the newly mated. Richard and Vitas missed out because of the security problems.”
“Excuse me, Alpha, but doesn’t Vitas still have a security problem?”
“I’m sending all but one of my Enforcers, my Betas and asking the others to do the same. I’ve booked the whole salon for the boys, and the owner is loup garou, and I thoroughly vetted him, personally. The Mates go at least once every month. Usually, I discreetly send out the Betas and my own Enforcers. I want the Mates to be able to speak freely without fear of offending us. But Sean is aware that today is different. The only time there is a risk is the short distance from the car to the salon and back, but they will be surrounded by Enforcers.”
Henri sighed. If The Alpha Mate wanted this and The Alpha had determined it should happen, he had no choice but to go along.
“Can I go with him?” Henri wanted to insure his Mate’s security himself.
“No,” The Alpha explained again, patiently, “the Mates go to be able to speak freely about things they wouldn’t say to us. To have one of us there defeats the purpose of the trip.”
“I see.” Henri took a deep, calming breath. “I’ll bring Vitas to the phone to speak to The Alpha Mate.”
“Normally we let them arrange their own lunches and social activities, but this is a special circumstance, so they are going to be heavily escorted. Between us, several of the she-wolves at Zachary’s are on my payroll, and they keep their Mates in the back to avoid trouble. He will be as safe as if he were in one of our homes.”
“Yes, Alpha, I’ll bring him to the phone.”
Henri opened the door to his suite and looked down at his sleeping Mate. He hated to disturb him. Vitas had missed so much sleep in the past months.

Vitas opened his eyes at the touch of Henri’s lips. What a lovely way to wake up every morning.
“Pet, I hate to disturb you, but I have Sean on the line and before you ask me, yes, you can go, and Armand has made sure that the security is sufficient.”
“Uh, okay.” Vitas kissed his Mate and with a furrowed brow, took the phone.
“Hi, it’s Sean. The Mates want to take you and Richard to Zachary’s. It’s an upscale men’s salon where you get the works, and we treat.”
Vitas tried to hide his yawn. “What arethe works?” He asked, half asleep, his voice ripe with confusion.
“You’ll see. Be ready at nine and wear casual clothes. Sweats will be fine.”
“I don’t own sweats.”
“Sure, you do, Julio bought you two pair.”
Vitas raised his eyebrows. “Uh, okay. Can Mathieu come?”
“Of course, but he has to stay outside our room. This way we can gossip and tell secrets.”
“It isn’t a secret if you tell someone else.” Vitas scrunched up his face.
“Don’t be a pooh. We’ll be there at nine. It’s seven thirty now. Hurry up and eat. You don’t have to take a shower because the attendant at Zachary’s will wash you there.”
“They’ll wash me?” Vitas’ voice squeaked. Sean ignored him.
“Bring street clothes and have Mathieu keep them for you. After we finish at Zachary’s, we’re going to Mr. Abbott’s for suits. You need a new one for the party this weekend. Tell Henri to meet us at Mr. Abbott’s at one thirty. Zachary’s also provides lunch.”

Henri’s gaze turned to his Mate. Vitas appeared dazed as if he had been run over by the Mack truck that was Sean. Henri smiled in reassurance. “The Alpha Mate can be somewhat intimidating.”
“What isthe works?” Vitas narrowed his eyes.
“I assume he means trimming your privates, waxing the hair around your hole and waxing your eyebrows, a massage, a seaweed wrap, a paraffin dip for your feet and hands, a manicure, pedicure, a shave with a straight razor; your hair, cut, styled, and blown dry.” Henri, amused, watched as Vitas’ jaw dropped.
