Luz whined in frustration. “You’re going to make me hard again, Baz. It’s happening already, I swear. Honestly, I don’tknow how you do it. Are you sure you don’t want me to blow you? I’ll keep it quiet.”
I kissed his lips because he was adorable. “I would love nothing more, sweetheart, but I wouldn’t be able to keep it quiet, so no.”
“Oh,” he murmured. “Some other time then.”
Maybe. Maybe not.
“Your father called me the other day,” I said, hating the way he tensed up against me. “He was checking in on us. Well, you, actually. He mentioned he’s planning to invite you to a barbecue. I think he was just testing the waters.”
I snorted. “Yeah, not gonna happen. Honestly, I don’t know what he wants from me.”
“I think he wants to make amends.”
“It’s too late for that. You have no idea…” Luz paused, raising his head to look at me. “You can’t imagine what he put me through. All those years of him trying to make me change were pure torture. He couldn’t accept me for who I was, and then he let the years go by. Do you know how long it has been since I last saw my family? Seven years, Baz. And now he wants to make amends? Fuck that.”
I brushed a strand of hair off his forehead.
“I get it. I really do, but I would like to tell you something you might wish to consider. I grew up without parents, and as such, I know all about the lost chances. Lost moments. Lost opportunities. You have the opportunity to give your family another chance. It’s up to you to decide if they deserve it or not, but life is a shitshow, Luz. In rare instances when we can do something about it… It’s worth giving it a shot. I hope you don’t mind my speaking about this.”
Luz shook his head. “You can tell me whatever you want. You’re my person.”
I grinned. “I’m your person?”
He nodded and pressed his lips to mine, chuckling.
“God, I can’t believe I’m kissing you. It must be a dream. If I fall asleep, don’t leave me.”
“It’s not a dream,” I said, kissing him back. “And I won’t leave you.”
“Can I come back to you?” he said, biting his lip nervously. “To live with you, I mean?”
I wished I could give him the answer he wanted. Hell, it was the answer I wanted, too.
“It’s too dangerous, sweetheart. Mendoza is a genuine threat, and I don’t want you in the mix.”
“Are you in danger?”
“I have a dangerous job, but I’m trained for it. You don’t have to worry.”
“Can I at least visit you sometime?”
“You can visit me anytime, but not without a bodyguard,” I replied. “You probably figured out you have one, courtesy of your father.”
Luz snorted. “Duh. As if they’re that tough to spot. And my father is predictable, by the way.”
It made me laugh. God, he made me laugh.
“I would just like to say that…” He paused, red in the face. “Um… I liked this… what happened, I mean. And… uh… I would like to do more when… um… I mean, if you want it.”
“I didn’t know you were shy, Luscious Lucius,” I teased him. “Is there anything in particular you would like to tell me?”
He smiled sweetly. “Yeah, I would like you to ram your big, fat dick in my ass, and never leave the premises. Or do I need to be more specific?”
There he was my little firecracker.
“Temper, temper,” I murmured, brushing my thumb against his lips. “You have such a sweet, filthy mouth, Luz. It’s driving me crazy.”
“No, you’re driving me crazy,” Luz whined, pointing his finger at my chest. “You. You. Answer the question, Bazooka. Are you going to fuck me or not?”
