Me – You’ll go?

Xander – Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Xander – Proud of you.

Then I had to text Aunt Tempie and Uncle Merlin.

Me – Just got the dates for graduation.

Aunt Tempie – That’s amazing, sweetheart.

Uncle Merlin – We are so proud of you.

And that meant everything.

Then I texted Ophelia.

Me – Feel like a shopping trip?

Ophelia – I am so in.

Ophelia – What are we shopping for?

Ophelia – Soraya wants to go.

Me – I would love for her to go.

Me – I need a dress for graduation.

Ophelia – Hell to the yes. That’s awesome!

Two Weeks Later...

That was the shift from hell.

Why in the world did Friday the thirteenth cause everyone and their brother to act like a crazy person had inhabited their entire body?

I mean... really.

The meal you ordered comes with onions. It’s written clear as fucking day.

You saw that. You ordered that.

So don’t send it back and ask it to be made without onions.

Or... better yet... don’t order a sweet tea and then complain that it’s too sweet.

Or how about... don’t get mad when you asked for ranch, so I brought it out, then get mad at me that I didn’t bring out the fat-free ranch.

I sighed as I leaned back in my seat in my car and closed my eyes.

Then I took in one breath, followed by two, and shook the day off.

Life was too short to let others ruin the day.

I tagged my phone from my bag, unlocked it, and checked my messages.
