So senseless that I moan into his mouth and crawl closer and?—
A tap to my back but I’m too invested in Hudson’s hand on my spine, pressing me closer to him, on his soft groan of pleasure coasting along my tongue, on the slight sting on my scalp as he tugs my head back and makes love to my mouth, on?—
Another tap, this time harder.
Hard enough to jerk me out of my stupor.
“Missy,” I hear.
Ernest.
Christ, our senior citizen chaperone.
Something Huddy seems to remember at the same time I do because he groans again—and this time it isn’t in pleasure.
It’s in dismay—or whatever the big, strong hockey player equivalent is for dismay.
But he pulls back, resting his forehead on mine, both of our breaths coming in rapid succession, his hands still in my hair and on my back, respectively.
Another poke on my side and I realize it’s Ernest’s cane.Or rather, it’s Ernest poking mewithhis cane.
Sighing, I manage to lift my head and look up at him.“Yes?”I ask archly.
Hudson chuckles and I level a scowl at him.
Something that seems to have absolutely no effect on him.
He just smiles at me.
“Stop playing kissy face and grab that weed,” Ernest says, using his cane to jab at the offending dandelion.
Smothering a sigh, I reach over, rip out the weed.
“Good.”He starts tottering away.“Now wash up.It’s time for dinner.”
I look away from my neighbor who never misses a moment to make things interesting, and I do it because Hudson murmurs, “Dinner?”
I understand the question.
The sun is high in the sky.
It’s barely four-thirty.
“Aren’t you the one who mentioned the whole senior citizen thing?”I giggle.“This is prime early bird dinner time.”
“I’m not even hungry,” he says.“We ate those sandwiches from Molly’s like three hours ago.”
He’s not wrong.
Then again, Ernest didn’t eat those Molly’s sammies.Likely, he ate lunch before we even made it over to his place.
Maybe even before we woke up.
I smile.
“God, you’re beautiful.”
My heart thuds hard against my rib cage, but before I can reply, he shifts me off his lap, nudging me to the side and carefully climbing to his feet.
