“Hell if I know,” I answered him with a frown. I didn’t know who buddy was or his angle, but I did know that he was clearly on bullshit and this wasn’t the place or time for it.
“How you doing?” He smiled at the reporter and extended a hand. “Levi Graham.”
Levi Graham.
The only Levi Graham that I was familiar with was the MMA fighter. I didn’t know what he looked like or anything, but I did know the name. What was he doing here though?
“What’s good, my mans?” When he stretched his hand in my direction I looked down at it then back at him. He chuckled and turned his attention to Lani who was standing directly beside me. “Nice to see you again, beautiful.”
When he reached for her hand, I shoved him back roughly then stepped in front of her.
“I don’t know what ya’ fucking plans are tonight, my man, but if it’s not to get your ass beat then don’t fucking touch my girl.”
“Javyous.” I heard Kehlani behind me and felt her tugging my arm, but I wasn’t tryna hear that and I didn’t give a fuck about the cameras rolling. I didn’t play that disrespect shit.
“It’s a little too late for thatmy man, ain’t that right, beautiful?”
Yeah this nigga was itching for an ass whooping. I so badly wanted to turn to Lani and ask what the fuck he was talking about, but I wasn’t going to give the hoe ass nigga the satisfaction that he was looking for.
“Go ahead to the office, baby,” I said to Lani.
“Not without?—”
Her words stopped as soon as I looked back. Zach’s punk ass looked shook too because he ushered my girl, my mama, Celeste, and Jocey away. Si stayed planted right beside me.
“Damn so soon?” Levi asked looking past me. “I was enjoying the sight of her.”
My jaw clenched. I was seething knowing that I couldn’t put hands on him. I could tell that he thought shit was sweet and thought he had the advantage because what he did was closer to street fighting, but he was sadly mistaken. I’d never taken a L in or out of the ring.
“What you want?” I asked instead of knocking his teeth out.
“To fight you of course.” He smirked and I smirked back before turning to Pres and Ray.
“Set it up,” I simply said.
“What?” Ray asked quizzically. “Wait, we can’t just?—”
“Don’t tell me you and your team are scared of little ol’ me.” He antagonized us, but that didn’t do anything but fuel an already blazing fire. I felt my smirk turning into a devilish grin.
“Set the shit up,” I said before walking off. “I want to fight ASAP.”
I didn’t wait for a response from my team or that bitch ass nigga. I had faith that Ray would make the shit happen and be in touch with the right people to make the shit happen. All of the women were waiting in Pres’s office when I made it there and I didn’t wait to get on my wife’s ass.
“Fuck was that nigga talking about?” I growled in her face as I grabbed the arms of the chair she was seated in and leaned down to be eye level with her.
“Nothing, I don’t know him like that,” she defended herself. “H-he came to get a facial before a-and once it was done I told him to schedule with someone else or don’t come back. I would never entertain another man while I’m with you.”
I just held her stare for a moment to gauge whether or not her ass was lying. I didn’t think that she was stupid enough to cheat on me, but her ass better not be flirting or in other niggas’faces and shit either. Satisfied with her answer and confident that she was telling the truth, I leaned in to kiss her lips.
“I know yo’ ass ain’t crazy, but you ain’teverentertaining another nigga again in your life. Together or not. You fine as shit, you know that don’t you.” I bit my lip as my eyes roamed her body.
“Move, JV.” She nudged me out of her face as she blushed.
“I’m just saying.” I laughed and stood to find my baby girl seated in Celeste’s lap. I lifted her small body into my arms so we could finalize some plans she made me promise to make her. “Aight, now that the event is over, you up, aight?”
She beamed. “Aight.”
“I got you next weekend. I need time to plan it all out, okay?”
