“What’s this?” He eyed the bag and me confused.
“A hundred Gs. We’re done.”
“Done? W-what do you mean?”
“I mean what the fuck I said. I fired you, but I know you had bread put up, so put this with it. Don’t call or text me or my mama anymore. That shit is a wrap.”
“JV, come on man.” He chuckled nervously. “This shit ain’t worth it, man. You grew up good, you had a great life, no problems?—”
“You don’t know what the fuck went on in my head as a mothafuckin’ child, so shut yo’ ass up,” I growled cutting him off.
“Son, l-life i-is too short.”
“Yeah, well yours is going to be even shorter if you call one of us again and I’m getting her shit.” I turned to walk away but stopped short when I remembered something. “Don’t try to fucking blackmail her either because we already know the statute of limitations is twenty-five years for murder here in Crescent Falls.”
His mouth dropped open when I said it.Bitch ass nigga.
That time I didn’t wait for a response before I went to her room to get the shit that she asked me to grab. She didn’t too much care about the clothes and shit because we had upgraded and replaced her wardrobe, but she had some bag in there that had a whole lot of shit that seemed sentimental to her.
Going into what used to be her room, I went straight to the closet like I’d been instructed and grabbed the bag. I couldn’t help myself, so I looked inside. In there I saw an assload ofmyshit. There was all kinds of shit from when I was growing up. My first hat, my first jerseys, my fucking baby teeth, all kinds of shit. A nigga really started to feel a way after seeing all that. Quickly, I gathered myself and stuffed it all back into the bag before leaving.
When I got to the crib, my girl was in the room with Jocey getting her together, so I hurried to ours so that I could do the same. I was going to pull all the stops out for my li’l boo tonight too, so after I showered and moisturized my body, I dressed in my all black Armani suit. It wasn’t often that a nigga got all done up like this, but the occasion for sure called for it. I’d bought Jocey a pretty little black dress to match my suit, so we were going to kill shit tonight.
“Ready!” Jocey shouted as she ran into our room followed by her fine ass mama.
“Damn, baby girl, you fly as hell!” I gassed her up as I held one of her small ass hands in mine and let her do a turn. “You know what’s gon’ really set yo’ shit off?”
“What?” she grinned.
“This.” I pulled a small rectangular box from behind me and held it out in front of her. When I pulled it open she and her mother’s eyes ballooned and she squealed.
“Oh my gosh! It’s pretty! Look Mommy, look!”
I pulled it out of the box and clasped it around her wrist before she rushed over to show her mother.
“It’s so pretty, doll.” Lani smiled at her lovingly.
Jocey then rushed over to me, giving me an airtight hug.
“Thank you so much, JV.”
“It’s nothing, baby girl, anything for you,” I said truthfully.
“Jocey, run and get your purse so you two can get ready to go.”
“Okay.” She nodded before running out.
Once she was gone, Lani sauntered over to me, tossed her arms around my neck and smiled.
“I hope that bracelet was fake, JV.”
“Fuck out of here.” I frowned. “You know better than that.”
“Yeah, I do, but seriously babe; she’s too young for stuff that expensive.”
“Naw, she my fucking princess, so she gon’ have whatever I want her to have, fuck the ticket,” I responded, grabbing a handful of her ass.
“Okay baby.” She giggled.
