“Girl that man follows two people, you and his stupid ass cousin,” Celeste corrected.
Clicking on his follows, I confirmed what she said. He was for sure only following me and Dominique. I didn’t have my notifications on, so I hadn’t seen him follow me nor did I get the tag for the picture. Before I exited the app, I followed him.
“Y’all were really cute. You planned that?”
“No. He just had trunks to match our stuff. Hell, I wasn’t even going to ask him to come, the twins invited him.”
“Well at least they have sense.”
“Girl, fuck you. I have sense.”
“Yep.” She snickered. “You got hella followers on Rejuvenate’s page too.”
Of course, she was still on social media being nosy.
I was too anxious to go look, so I opted to do it later. This was a lot to let register. He had over half a million likes on that picture. Javyous was really a big fucking deal, way bigger than I anticipated.
“Ugh his cousin is FaceTiming me; I’ll call you in the morning.”
“Okay.” I yawned. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
After disconnecting the call, I put my phone on the charger, snuggled up to my babies, and closed my eyes until I drifted into a much needed good night’s rest.
It seemed like the crowd had doubled from Monday night. At the first fight there was at least enough room for me to turn without touching elbows with someone else, but no such luck tonight. It seemed like all of the seats were filled with the exception of the one right beside me.
Thank God I was on the front row.
If I had been seated behind someone, I’d really feel like I was packed in a can of sardines. Javyous was going to be the last fight of the night, which was likely why it was so packed now. Fans were here for the others, but it was like everyone wanted to see him. This was the main event that everyone was waiting for.
When the announcers started with the introductions, I grinned from ear to ear. I loved to see how hyped he was before a fight. He was so passionate about what he did and it was a big turn on. I loved the drive and determination that he showed with this. It made me feel better about making the choice to help him because I was passionate about my craft too, so I related.
While the announced talked, I felt someone brush against me and noticed that they stepped up beside me.
Why the hell was she so close.
I discreetly stepped over a little and she stepped with me making me turn completely in her direction and frown.
“Um, excuse me, why are you so close to me?”
“It’s not a lot of space.” She looked around. “Zoey.”
She had extended her hand to me and I left it hanging there. Was this girl serious?
“What are you doing?”
“What do you mean?” She had the nerve to look confused.
“I mean what I just said, Zoey. What the hell are you doing?”
“Supporting our man, what else?”
Chuckling, I looked toward the ring at Javyous who was engrossed in whatever his uncle was saying to him before turning my attention back to his little friend.
“Javyous didn’t invite you here, Zoey, and don’t you think it’s not only weird but inappropriate for you to be approaching me and thinking that we’re going to sit here together and cheer for himtogether?”
“I mean, no.” She shrugged. “He didn’t have toinviteme here. This is what we normally do. Why do you think this seat was available?”
