“That’s what I know.”

“No baby girl, it’s what youthinkyou know. Javyous is not now nor has he ever been a one woman man. It’s too much of a headache and hassle to be with one woman. I know that better than anyone because I raised him.”

“You raised him to be his own man which means he’s making his own decisions. I doubt that he looks at me like a hassle. Like I said, he may have been with multiple women before me, but that ship has sailed and there is a new sheriff in town.”

“If that were true then he wouldn’t have been out with Kecia when we first arrived here in Vegas now would he? If you don’t believe me, check her Instagram story.”

Again that smug smile was on his face as he finally stepped around me. Rushing to the back of the jet to the bedroom, I closed the door, locked it, stripped out of my clothes and climbed in the bed. I didn’t want to go look at the girl’s story from my own page, so I FaceTimed Celeste to have her do it for me. I would have asked Jasmine to do it, but I didn’t need her asking me questions about what was going on.

“Hey, bestie.”

“Hey, girl.”

“Uh uhn, what’s wrong with you?”

“Can you go to that Kecia girl’s page and see if her and Javyous were together?”

“Huh?”

“Share your screen with me as a matter of fact.”

“Okay, hold on.” She started to do some stuff on her phone before the shared screen appeared. She went to the Instagram app then to the search bar. “What’s her name?”

“I don’t know, bitch.” I laughed. “This is your thing, not mine.”

“True, hold on.” She went to JV’s page, to his followers, then she found her. After clicking on her story we watched in anticipation until she got to a video that had a Vegas filter on it. My stomach twisted in knots as she clicked through them until she got to the last one where there was a video of Javyous. He was just sitting there sipping on a drink not even payingattention, almost like he didn’t even know he was being recorded but she had a video of him.

Why didn’t he tell me that she was there yesterday?

I didn’t even have time for my thoughts to process, I heard Dominique which meant that Javyous was here as well. I quickly rushed Celeste off of the phone and unlocked the door before sliding back into the bed. I wanted so badly to address the situation, but I was afraid that he would do something to his father so I acted like I was asleep. I would address everything at a later time.

Chapter Twenty-One

Javyous

Shit with Kehlani and I had been weird since we’d gotten home. She had been making it her business to sleep in the room with Jocey every night and also not to speak to me. She still performed her duties as a wife and mother around the house, but she was not fucking with me at all and I had no idea why.

Since Wednesday was normally the day of the week she worked half a day, I did the same by cutting my training short because I needed to see what was up with her. I made sure to come home after she did, so she wouldn’t see my car and decide to go elsewhere.

Entering the house, I checked all of downstairs to see that she was nowhere to be found, so I made my way up the stairs where I could hear what sounded like her throwing up. Picking up my pace, I rushed in the direction of our bathroom to find her hugging the toilet seat. I quickly made my way over and pulled her hair back as she emptied the contents of her stomach into the toilet. When she was done, I helped her up and she went to brush her teeth and rinse with mouthwash.

“You good?”

“Fine,” she mumbled and sluggishly made her way to the bed. She climbed in and pulled the cover up to her chin; her eyes were closed the entire time. Sighing, I walked over and took a seat on the side of the bed with my eyes heavily trained on her. She was different. Sick as fuck and her attitude was on ten. I needed to know what was up with her ASAP.

“Lani, baby, what’s wrong?”

“I’m not feeling good obviously, Javyous.” She sniffled and I frowned.

I was over the attitude. I hadn’t done anything wrong, so I needed to know what warranted her shit. Before I could question her, my phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out and didn’t recognize the number, so I silenced it and pushed it back into my pocket. I wasn’t sure who was calling, but I had a pretty good idea.

“Kehlani, get up.”

“Javyous, move.” She moved her shoulder back and forth until my hand fell off, but I quickly recovered and pulled the whole comforter from her body. Sick or not, she was about to get up and talk to me.

“Fuck is your problem, Lani?”

“You,” she spat. “I don’t feel good and you’re fucking bothering me. Give me my cover and go. Shouldn’t you be training or perhaps in one of your hoes’ faces?”
