“Why?” She put her hands on her hips, but they were still in fists.
“God, you’re gorgeous when you’re pissed off.” I smiled, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
Her lips twitched and it was small, but I saw the sides of her lips turn up into a smile. I couldn’t stop myself. I pushed Alison against the door to her office and pressed my hips into hers, as I grabbed her hair in my fists and kissed her hard. She arched against my body and murmured into my mouth.
“I missed you,” I whispered.
“It’s only been a day.” She kissed the spot below my ear that made the blood rush to my cock. “But I missed you too.” Her hand slipped to the front of my warmup pants and my breath caught in my throat as her hand tracked over the erection tenting my pants.
Instead of asking why I had pushed her into her office, she turned away from me and slipped her hands into the waistband of her yoga pants, sliding both her pants and panties down. As soon as I realized what was happening, I released my manhood from my warmup pants and slid into her from behind. She moaned as her body was bumped against the door with each of my thrusts.
“Shhhh.” I managed to grunt quietly.
She arched her back and pushed her ass against me, making the thrusts more powerful. “Then you’d better make sure I don’t make a sound.” Alison looked over her shoulder with a glint in her eye that I’d never seen before. I slid my hand over her mouth and she moaned in response. My free hand gripped her hip bone and then slid down her abdomen until my fingertips met her warmth.
Her entire body was trembling, and so was mine. I wasn’t sure whose knees were going to give out first. When I got close, I stopped caring whether or not Everleigh would be able to hear the rhythmic thumping of the door rattling on its hinges. Alison screamed out, but it was only partially blocked by my hand. I couldn’t last one more second, and while she tried to hold in the sound of her orgasm as her body bucked beneath mine, I pulled out and bit my lip as my seed spilled onto her lower back.
“What’s going on?”Alison asked after cleaning up in her bathroom. “What was that all about?” Her face was flushed and she looked incredible.
I chuckled and raised my eyebrows. “That was not what I had planned.”
Alison slid onto her treatment table and patted the paper underneath. “Why don’t you tell me why you scared the hell out of me?”
“There are two things.” I smiled.
“Okay?” She nudged me with her shoulder. “Why don’t you start with number one.”
I hoped this wasn’t going to be hard. “Everleigh is going to ask you for a meeting.”
Alison nodded. “She already did. I have to meet with her this afternoon.”
“Right.” I slipped my arm around her shoulder. “She’s going to tell you that the deal is off.”
“What?” Alison hopped off the table. “What do you mean, the deal is off?”
I grabbed her hands. “We got a little too hot and heavy.”
Alison shook her head and rolled her eyes. “Wasn’t that what we were supposed to do?”
Her hands were shaking in mine and I squeezed them. “It was supposed to take a little longer. She’s just worried that the press is going to frame you as the other woman.”
“Me?” She pulled her hand from mine and pointed to her chest. “The other woman?” She turned and started to pace in her office. “We were just doing what we were told to do. The photos, the dates – we didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I know, Alison. But I guess she wanted it more drawn out. And she could see that…”
Now her arms were crossed against her chest. “Everleigh could see what?”
My throat felt like I had just skated suicide drills for forty minutes straight in a hot rink – dry and hoarse. I tried to clear it, but it didn’t work. “Everleigh thinks that we’re falling in…love.”
“Oh.” Alison had already been flushed, but now a streak of crimson ran across her jawbone. “Is that so bad?”
The light in the room seemed to dim and the hum of the fluorescent lights got duller as everything around me disappeared. The only thing I could focus on was Alison’s pretty heart-shaped lips. She hadn’t denied it. “It is,” I whispered. I wanted to tell her that it wasn’t bad; that I knew I’d loved her the moment we’d made love at my lakehouse. But I couldn’t. Especially now that we had been instructed to cool our jets.
“Why?” she whispered. “Why is that so bad?”
I pulled Alison in so that her body was between my knees. “My dad has pulled the plug on the agreement. He wants me to focus on hockey. Just hockey.”
She pressed back so that she could look me in the eyes, but held onto my shoulders. “Your dad didn’t know about the agreement?”
