“What are you going to do with Greg?” Benjy glanced over to where the wolf had been slain.

“He will be disposed of.”

“His father may come looking for him.” Benjy worried.

“Let him,” Victor growled. “He’ll meet the same end as his son.” Victor cupped Benjy’s cheek in his palm and looked deep into his beautiful blue eyes. “No one will ever take you from me.”

Benjy was so overwhelmed by the sense of security, belonging, and love surrounding him that he could barely speak, but he was able to say the three most important words that Victor needed to hear. "I love you." He slipped his arm around Victor's neck and pulled him down for a kiss filled with everything he was feeling.

“I love you too, Benjy. You are my mate, my little Omega.” He smiled and finally set Benjy back on his feet.

They walked together back to the car as Victor’s men cleaned and repaired the rental house. Before they reached their vehicle, Ari came out with several sheets of drawing paper in his hand.

“You forgot these Benjy.” He handed him the sketches that Benjy had made that first night he saw Alpha Victor Rios. He blushed when Victor took the drawings and inspected them.

“I drew those after I met you and your friends in the restaurant. I wanted Shane to be able to recognize you.” He explained.

“This is how you see me?” He smiled.

“Yeah, I thought you were magnificent even when I was scared shitless of you,” Benjy answered a little embarrassed by the fact he was looking like a love-struck sixteen-year-old with a crush. Victor pulled him close for a tight embrace and kissed the side of his head.

“I hope you always see me like this.” He held up the drawing that showed a devastatingly handsome man with lovely, caring eyes. “I will strive to always be this man for you.”

"You are perfect as you are, perfect for me." They kissed, and all fear and apprehension of the future faded from Benjy's thoughts, and he was filled with nothing but excited anticipation.

EPILOGUE

Shane heard of the incident at the rental house with Greg and breathed a sigh of relief that finally maybe they were free and safe. They could get on with their lives now that they were no longer being hunted and were members of the Sparrow Ridge Pack. They were a large, impressive pack of wolves, and he doubted anyone back in Concord would have the guts to go against them.

He hoped the old Alpha, Greg’s father, would let it drop and get on with life with his new mate. The girl was probably already pregnant with Greg’s replacement. The man possessed no honor or loyalty to anyone.

As he walked from the library, he instantly noticed Daniel waiting by the door to escort him to the car. Edgar was still supervising them for now, but he wasn’t being an ass about it and gave them plenty of space.

Shane wasn't really sure how he felt about Daniel at the moment. His first impression was one of awe, and his second was one of distrust - not a good combination to start arelationship. Daniel seemed eager to prove himself, and Shane was willing to give him a chance. They were mates, and hopefully they would find some common ground.

“Did you have a good day?” Daniel asked as he slipped his hand into Shane’s and held fast. Shane looked up at the big man and gave him a genuine smile.

“Yeah, it was okay, better now that you’re here." Shane didn't vocalize the last part, unsure of where he stood with the big man, and not ready to share every feeling.

They walked together to the car where Edgar was waiting. Daniel could feel his mate's reticence, and it made him want to kick his own ass. If he'd been a little less of an asshole and a little more understanding, he wouldn't be in this position. But then, hindsight is always the clearest. He would win the young man's heart because he would never give up.

PROLOGUE

“You’re not going anywhere near my brother.” Benjy Hammond glanced at his brother Shane to make sure he hadn’t been upset by the outburst and found him totally transfixed, staring at the man across the room. He seemed completely oblivious to everything else going on around him. His eyes sparkled, and his mouth dropped open in a state of awe.

“What’s his name?” Shane asked as he stared at Daniel O’Hare, a Beta of the Sparrow Ridge Wolf Pack. His breath came out in breathless little pants, and his eyes never left their mark. He devoured the big, gorgeous man standing across from him.

"It doesn't matter, he’s not a good person. He's just like the people we ran from at the Concord Pack." Benjy was beginning to feel that things were taking a turn that absolutely terrified him. How could Shane be interested in a man like Daniel? It can't happen. Benjy was desperate to break the connection between them.

"That man insulted me the moment I arrived. He treated me just like the Betas from our old Pack." Benjy continued to shield his brother as he turned to Victor Rios, Pack Alpha, andBenjy's mate. "I want him gone, now." The growing need and wonder in Shane's expression was making him frantic. He had to stop this before Shane got hurt. Daniel would most certainly hurt Shane just as those men had hurt Benjy.
