I didn’t miss the fact that we had both pissed off our girls right at the very beginning of the date. But Siobhan had to know that it would be a terrible idea to hook Spence and Nat up. We were all too close, and the last thing I needed was to have things go sideways and mess up a really good thing.
Unlike Spencer, I didn’t try to give Siobhan a kiss since our little spectacle upset her. Instead, I looked at her and said, “Sorry. You just surprised me that it’s Natalie.”
I really wanted to ask her if she truly thought this was a good idea, but that seemed like an asshole move. I refused to do that.
Siobhan grabbed my thigh under the table. Then, she leaned in and whispered, “I’m sorry about setting it up this way. But those two are meant for each other, and Nat would never make the move on her own.”
It was shocking to hear that Nat felt the same way as Spence. Who would have thunk?
Spence did the one thing I couldn’t stand. He picked up his cell phone and sent a text message. If he even thought about reaching out to a puck bunny, I was going to kill him. Although almost immediately, Natalie pulled out her phone and read a message. They were both going back and forth on their phones, and I was seeing stupid smiles develop on their faces while the waitress just stared down our table, probably wanting to take our orders.
Eventually, I said, “Enough, you two. Put away your phones and talk like real people.”
“No way in hell,” Natalie said with a smile as she drank her wine. “Let me and Spence text each other so we don’t get your blood pressure up.”
The whole table, aside from me, busted out into giggles, which only made me more convinced that those two should put awaytheir cell phones. I had a nasty feeling they were talking about sex, and my sister having sex was the last thing I wanted to think about.
“I’m not some old man with high blood pressure,” I grumbled. “Besides, I’m not the one who gets their panties in a twist every anytime someone looks at Nat the wrong way."
Chapter 10

The double date was a massive success. Natalie and Spencer finally had a breakthrough, and they were off to extend their date one-on-one. Carter sat beside me. He wasn’t his usual jovial self, but even he seemed to have some fun.
As we got closer to his place, I just couldn’t take it anymore.
“I’m sorry for blindsiding you tonight. I thought it would be good fun," I said to Carter.
He reached over the console and placed his hand over my right hand. “It was, especially when I stopped thinking about my little sister being there and started to think of her as Spencer’s date.”
I giggled. He was such a typical older brother sometimes. Knowing there was the potential for all four of us to be under oneroof tonight, I said, “I hate to break it to you, but Natalie has had sex before.”
He turned his head and replied, “Nope. In my book, she’s never been kissed.”
That just made me laugh even more. He was acting like a child, but it wasn’t out of malice.
“Did you completely forget that Spencer totally kissed her when we were waiting for our cars, or did you go temporarily blind at that moment?”
He snorted. “Blind. That’s my baby sister, and there are certain things I just never want to think about. Her having sex or even kissing anyone in a romantic sense is number one on the list.”
That was completely fair.
I pulled into Spencer’s house and parked behind Carter’s truck. We walked in, and I went to the sofa as Carter poured me a glass of wine and himself some water into a matching wine glass before joining me. It was part of our normal foreplay, so it meant the world to me. But it made me curious.
“So what would happen if Spencer brought Natalie back here?”
He shook his head and stared into his water-filled wine glass. It always amused me how he would pour wine for me and water for himself after our first date. It seemed like a thousand thoughts were going through his mind, and I needed to know what he was thinking about.
“I don’t know. It might make me sound like a dick, but I would much rather if he slept over at her place. There's just certain things I don’t need to hear."
I chuckled. When he put it that way, I couldn’t blame him.
Chapter 11
Siobhan
Iwas in my trailer looking over today’s lines. The dialogue had been juicy lately, but it was so hard to stay on top of everything and not sound like a fool. I always only took a couple of takes with my dialogue because I didn’t want to be the loose link.
