“Den, please, give me space.”I shoved to my feet and stormed away.

I hugged myself. Nola didn’t deserve my emotions. I knew where I stood with her all along, but it stung like a bitch.

And now Camden was here, upending everything.

He was my mate. I swallowed past the thick ball in my throat. And he didn’t get along with my other mates.

I exhaled, quickening my stride. A quick walk to release the energy and then I would take another shower. Sitting in the hot water with the door locked sounded perfect, but I needed to clear my mind before returning because as much as I hated admitting it, I was weak for them.

Winding around the tree, I kicked up snow, watching it descend with a satisfying plunk. It was oddly relaxing. Snow crunched as someone approached. Which of my mates was coming?

A palm pressed over my nose. The same scent that filled my nostrils when I was taken from my car filled my nose. No. No. I jerked my elbow backward and hit something soft. I couldn’t go so easily like last time.

My worst fear... I was discovered. Were my mates okay?

I whimpered. If they were attacking them, no, killing them while I was being taken—I would never forgive myself.

I should have left instead of allowing my selfish needs to overpower me.

Willow

My cheek pressedinto a soft surface. Not again... My heart accelerated.

“Her breathing changed,” a male voice said.

My lashes fluttered open and I lunged at the man staring at me. He winced as my fist hit his junk. There was no way I was letting him take advantage of me. Spurring his anger until he killed me was the only option because if I had my heat under their thumb, then I’d have no self-control.

Never. And my mate... my fist shook as I slammed it into his stomach. His breath puffed out and I pulled back, sweeping my eyes across the room.

“Stop!”

I frowned.Bria?

“Sorry, Willow, I didn’t know he’d do this.” I narrowed my eyes at her. After I gave her orange juice... I shook my head. Conniving bitch. “You’re scaring her, Alpha.”

I turned back to the male and scowled. He was still rubbing his dick with his nose wrinkled.

He seemedreallyyoung.

Ah, that was what Bria meant when she asked Kit to return. He seemed sloppy.

“Sorry, Willow. I did nae mean tae scare you.”

His eyes were still small halfmoons with pain and Bria rolled her eyes.

“I told him we should have asked Kit, but he had a point, he would nae let you leave his side.” Bria approached and handed me a notepad with a pen hooked into the sleeve. “Alpha didn’t bring you here in the best way, but after seeing you were an Omega, there really was no choice.”

Shit. Were they going to force me to do something or, or—

“Can we come in now?” A woman with salt-and-pepper hair poked her head around the small door opening. What was going on here?

The room I was in was like any bedroom, if very bland. It didn’t seem to be an occupied bedroom if the bare mattress and blank walls were anything to go off of. The woman pushed the door open the rest of the way, holding the hand of a little girl.

What?...

She looked to be around eleven years old, but that wasn’t what forced me to step back, it was the intense scent of lavender and another smell uniquely likeus. My wolf pushed forward, sensing someone similar.

Omega.
