Camden seemed to reach the same conclusion. His expression tightened, lips thinning.

“You don’t get to stare at me like that,” she hissed toward me. Kit lashed out and gripped her throat. She kicked her feet. I rushed forward and grabbed his arm, shaking my head. His eyes softened at the look on my face.

His head inclined slightly and he dropped her. She fell to her knees. From the corner of my eye, Camden moved in front of us, blocking Torrin.

“Don’t think of touching her,” Camden spat.

“I shouldn’t have allowed that little bitch to stay in my pack,” Torrin snarled.

There was a rush of movement from the corner of my eye. The slightest ripple in the air as Britt’s arm jerked back. A glint of silver and the arching angle toward Kit’s chest. In an instant, I threw myself to the side, jumping in front of Kit and smacking into her arm—ruining her aim. I met her gaze as she slammed the knife into my upper chest. Horror widened her eyes and then resolve. She bared her teeth and twisted.

Agony burned through the wound, striking outward.

Where it would have hit Kit in the heart, it sliced into a weird angle downward near my sternum. It all happened so fast.

Rowan’s shaggy fur flashed before me, and he jumped, teeth bared as he tore into her throat. He yanked his head to the side, and a sick gush exploded across my cheek as he detached from her body. With a toss, he sent her head to the other end of the room. Kit caught me as I slumped, head tipping to the side as Camden sank his teeth into his father and shook hard, snapping his neck.

No. No. If not for me... My heart constricted, throbbing for my mate. Killing his father...Camden.I’m sorry, Camden. It was all my fault...

The room spun and I blinked quickly to clear the stars in front of my eyes. I slumped, leaning into Kit. His chest was shaking so hard it moved my body.

From the corner of my eye, I could see a few Beta wolves rush inside.

It would be hell to get the pack back in order.

KIT

No. Not her. No.

Fur exploded from my skin as I shifted, unable to control it. My stomach roiled and heaved, but I kept the vomit inside as I clasped Willow to my chest. My hands shook as I clasped her tighter. I couldn’t think. In my long fucking life, I’d never needed to keep control more than now, but I couldn’t.

Camden shifted, hands shaking as he dropped to his knees next to me, shouting something. All I could hear was a sharp ringing. I finally registered Camden motioning for me as I cradled Willow.

He pressed his palms to the wound.

“Get help,” he roared.

Rowan paced the area, whining and baring his teeth. His fur sticking up.

A female ran into the living room and gasped at the bloodshed. Her attention dropped to Willow and her eyes widened. I didn’t think they could get wider but then she looked at me.

“Let her through,” Camden snarled at Rowan. I watched, detached from myself, struggling to breathe. Willow’s head drooped too much. “Fix her.”

The woman stared, eyes bouncing around.

“Now!” Camden roared.

She dropped to her knees and reached toward my mate. My fingers flexed and I bared my teeth, growling. She stilled, horror filling her gaze.

Willow’s breathing rattled.

It snatched my soul from my body. I froze, gasping.

“I’ll try to help her,” the woman whispered roughly. This time I didn’t stop her. Willow was already shivering so hard.

Rowan hovered over my shoulder, his body hunching so he could watch. His focus uncanny. “I’m going to lean close to her chest. I need to listen to her breathing.”

She lowered her head and pressed her fingers to Willow’s wrist.
