Her signed words echoed in my head, rounding and rounding torturously. What the fuck?

The title sounded familiar. As an Alpha I’d learned about all sorts of shit, but the details avoided me. I never despised myself more for rushing through shit that didn’t keep my focus.

Her brown eyes stared up at me through her long lashes. Her beautifully pointed nose and sharp features remained stiff. She used to insult her looks and height, but after I’d snapped at her about it, she stopped. She was beautiful.

Although there was calm to her expression, she was anxious.

Her honeyed scent hadn’t escaped my nostrils. A sweetness that lifted the hair on my arms. Bathing in it was a played-down way of describing what I wanted to do.

Resolve tightened my spine. Despite what she was about to explain, she would not push me away again. The first time I’d allowed it and bided my time, but it would no longer work that way. We were on my terms, and she wouldn’t leave my side again.

Willow

My armstwinged from signing so much. It’d been so long since I’d done it.

As I finished explaining the basic description of Omegas, the low glint of understanding brightened in his gaze. I curled my toes within the confines of the boots, the chill remained after pulling them back on.

“And they had multiple fucking mates,” Camden muttered. “I remember thinking how shit it’d be to share your true mate—”

My shoulders jerked back, forcing him to cut off.

My heart shuddered at his words. Hewouldbe the one to have a difficult time with it. How could he not? It was him and me for the longest time. In his eyes, I would bring two new werewolves into the picture. He’d be the one to ask me to come away with him. A choice I wouldn’t make.

Camden scoffed, shaking his head as he met the gaze of Kit and then he flicked it over to Rowan.

“And I’m assuming that’s the change that happens—they fucked you already?”

My eyes slid closed at his hurtful comment. It was posed as a question, but he didn’t mean for me to answer it, since it was pretty damn obvious.

Sweet baby werewolf, this was giving me a migraine. My wolf was also in turmoil. She was trying to get me to snap at him, since she didn’t understand the emotional unrest.

I grasped he was having a difficult time, but I was on cloud nine. It was taking everything in me to not ask them to hold me. The hollow feeling in my chest that occasionally haunted me was soothed with Camden’s proximity.

I couldn’t even celebrate that Den was my mate like I wanted.

“How dare you put your filthy hands on her?” Camden’s chest rumbled, and the snow crunched as Kit moved forward. I slipped between them and became smushed at their closeness.

Rowan watched with interest, but didn’t intercede when I gave him a look.

The only two that seemed to have real beef were Kit and Camden. The hate-filled looks they exchanged over my head weighed on me.

I wiggled my arms out and slapped my hands against their chests and stamped my foot once.

“Willow Suarez, you’re going home with me.”

“Don’t full name me! Enough is enough, Camden. Now I want you to translate my next words.”

Camden’s jaw bunched, and I tipped my chin up. He was generally rash and angry, but he eventually chilled enough.

“Do not hurt each other. I don’t expect you to get along, but hurting one another will hurt me.”Camden stared down at me, the red flush deepening on his neck. His tell when he got pissed.“Translate that, Camden.”I shoved his arm. He scowled.

“She said she’s leaving with me,” Camden said instead, and I gasped.

“No,” Kit snarled, grabbing my arm in a punishing grip.

I whirled and shook my head at Kit. His gaze was wide and frantic. Turning back to Camden, I shoved him.

His jaw twitched.
