“Nope. I’m going with or without you,”I signed.

“You don’t know my contact’s number.”

“You think I don’t know you direct message. I have your social media passwords. I can find out.”

Camden sighed, lips twitching. It meant that if they tried to leave me behind, I would go, which Camden knew.

“I don’t need the translation to understand what that means. I’ll grab the luggage from my storage to pack some clothing for you,” Kit said gruffly and exited. “Let’s go, Rowan.”

I watched him depart, his spine like an arrow. A weight settled on my chest. His tone was low and tight. Upset.

Did he want to let me go now that I had another mate? He wasn’t showing me any of his emotions. He hadn’t even addressed how he’d known an Omega, and not only that, protected her. I scowled and quickly caught myself. There was no need to be jealous over a child. Maybe he thought I was too much of a problem, and he wasn’t wrong. My body seized at the thought of not having him, my lungs constricting.

“He’s efficient, at the very least.”

Ignoring Den, I pulled open Kit’s drawer and plucked out clothes for Camden, which he tugged on.

“You dropped your cell phone after your conversation with your mom, I left it on the stand near the door.” It had completely slipped my mind, and although grateful, I held back my thank you and continued digging through the drawers.

I pulled another open to find him some socks and stared at the contents, stunned. My nose burned seeing the carefully folded clothing in multiple shades. Kit had purchased a lot more than I’d expected.

I cleared my throat to calm the knot there as I pulled clothing out.

“We weren’t done with our conversation.”

Well, I was. My shoulders dropped and I sighed.

“What else do you have to say?”

“Why didn’t you trust me with this?” The accusation in his tone was gone as opposed to earlier. He’d calmed enough to process. “You could have shifted a long time ago.”

“What part don’t you get that Omega’s were hunted to extinction, or at least to the point where any surviving Omegas went into hiding?”

“You don’t think I could have protected you?”

“Why is it even relevant? It feels like you wouldn’t have wanted me if I hadn’t shifted.”That visibly took the wind out of his sails and he sighed.

“That’s not what I mean. I hate the thought of you hiding something from me. Even when I didn’t know you were my mate, you had my soul in your clutches,” he said gruffly and stepped into my space.

His cheek pressed against my face and I shivered.

“We’ve always argued. But now I can kiss you until you forgive me.”

And I was goo. His palm pressed into my spine, forcing my back to bow toward his heat since he was still bending down, pressing his cheek to mine.

He inched back, sitting on the edge of the bed as he spread his legs. The press on my back didn’t stop and he flushed me to his chest.

His lips pressed to mine, tongue slipping between my lips to prod at mine. His thick cock nudged my stomach, twitching. I mimicked his groan.

If I continued down this path, I was going to fuck him again. I yanked away from him, breathing hard. There were places to be and getting distracted by dick needed to hold off.

I shuddered and scurried away from him.

Kit

He understood her too well.

My stomach did that somersaulting thing it had done since he’d shown up. Then it had all worsened after my old pack took her. If she leaned more on him, it was my fault. I should have told her more about the kid, but the primary thing on my mind was Willow. Now she would turn to him because of my lapse in judgment.
