Camden’s jaw tightened, jaw flexing. “I can’t deal with that, Hector. I won’t be the pack Alpha and Iwillnotleave her side.”
Hector sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He kept shooting Willow looks and his gaze continued to bounce over me and a pacing Rowan who’d returned into his full wolf form.
“Fine. I’ll handle it.”
They stared each other down for a beat and then Hector turned on this heel to leave, passing the woman who came in with a kit. “I’ll bandage her up.”
Willow
My mouth felt like cotton. My eyelids remained closed, twitching a few times before I could force them open. I took stock of my surroundings as awareness seeped into my consciousness. I wiggled my uncomfortably numb legs.
Rowan’s head lifted from my stomach and he whined, lapping my cheek frantically.
“Willow,” Camden rasped, his palms pressing to my face and forcing my mouth to his. His tongue plunged between my lips, kissing me fervently as he groaned.
A rough, large palm wrapped around my belly, shaking. Camden released my lips and Kit claimed them quickly after. The way he cupped my cheeks...
His hands shook.
The desperation in their touch made tears prickle my eyes.
Heat engulfed my chest, spreading down my limbs. I’d never felt more whole. Any hollow sensation was obliterated as my wrists and thigh pulsated heat. I was complete.
“How dare you?” Kit growled into my mouth. “You stupid girl. How dare you leave?”
My lip trembled and I dropped my gaze. I was going to come back...
Camden spat out, “I think I’m speaking for all of us. Don’t ever fucking do that again.”
Camden’s hand shook and he dragged it through his russet hair.
“You are never to leave me,” Kit growled, the violence in his tone lifting the hair on the back of my neck in the most delicious way.
Rowan huffed and opened his maw to gently tap his teeth around my belly, the anger in his gaze unmistakable. Wolfman was heavy. I wiggled my toes and could hardly feel them with how numb they were under him, but I couldn’t bring myself to force him off.
The thickness in my throat reached excruciating levels and tears leaked from my eyes. I exhaled shakily. Kit sucked in a harsh breath, his body trembling. In an explosion of fur, his wolfman form pushed to the surface and the hands on my face stretched much larger to engulf my head. The bed creaked and tilted to the side, forcing me to slide toward him.
A pinch in my chest had me hugging myself.
“Fuck,” Camden shifted, his fur and thick arm pushing into me as his weight balanced out the unevenness of the bed. I settled between the wolfmen while Rowan, who lay on my legs, remained unfazed.
A soreness at my wrist brought my attention to them. My eyes widened and I patted it, rubbing at the wound. I winced. It was real, not my overinflated imagination. Shit.Shit. This worked against everything I was trying to do to protect them.
“You must have wanted it as much as we did.” I couldfeelthe smirk coming from Camden.
A hazy memory surfaced. It was a dream! My hands shook. This wasn’t supposed to be real. It was my deepest desires, but I was never going to act on them. It was bad enough I’d slipped up with Rowan.
I lifted my head and angled an accusing stare at Kit and then Camden.
“How could you guys do this? It’s dangerous being tied to me.”
“A fucking letter, Willow? Seriously?” Camden snapped. “A little faith would be great.”
“Aye,mo chridhe. Trust us to protect you.”
Their words were accompanied with a gutturalness due to their shifted form.
I frowned, crossing my arms. They were ganging up on me but a tiny piece of me was ecstatic they seemed to be working together for once.
