That stopped him.
His mouth lifted in a sneer. “I will let you know now; I will not touch another. I am incapable.”
My heart was about to explode.
“Good,” I muttered, clearing my throat and trying to keep my cool while my insides wiggled like an ecstatic girl.
He tensed and directed his attention to me.
“You must never touch another.” His claws flexed. “If you ever touch a male or female the way you touch me ...”
Shit, he was going to lose control.
“I don’t want anyone else. You’re mine.”
Tene’s head tilted.
“I ... am yours.” The words were hesitant, but I nodded even though it wasn’t a question. His tail wrapped around my ankle, and the corner of his mouth tipped up in a semblance of a smile, but it looked more like a feral baring of teeth.
“Let’s go,” I muttered, lips pressed into his chest.
TWENTY-SIX
TENEBROUS
“I must see the naga,”I said through gritted teeth. The orc standing sentry at the base of the stairs snorted in a bhore-like manner, but I waited until he gave me what I requested. Seeing the leader of this place was the only way I could get Bridget away from here.
I refused to make her sad, which meant I could not destroy everything in my path as I craved. The orc exited through the entrance. This strange world was not something I was used to, but my lotus seemed to enjoy it.
The orc led me to a narrow pathway where another orc waited. They both walked me down to a rectangular box. I couldn’t understand this need for straight lines to the walls. How was it so important to humans and domesticated creatures?
My blue light flared across my surroundings. Furnishings littered the area of every place I had looked, even in the soft material I fucked her in. Seeing her so comfortable—I wanted to give her that.
“What do you require to tell her she no longer needs to pay off her debt to you?” The naga threaded her fingers together and leaned back. Her eyes flashed.
“Interesting, you demons are prideful, solitaire creatures. I never expected for a human to wrap you around her finger.” She bared her teeth.
“I lose patience” was all I had to say, and she rattled at me. She could be as angry as she wanted, but my goal was to get my questions answered.
Her head lowered and she stilled, contemplating. Her gaze roved down my form.
A silver trinket rested on the surface behind her, and the blue of my runes reflected off it. Treasures filled my cave, could she want them in exchange?
“Give me your essence,” she said before I could offer.
I narrowed my eyes. Strange thing to request, but for my human, I would give anything.
“Fine. And I will take from you any comfort things I need for my human. We will continue to stay in the cave you have provided until I find a suitable location for her.”
“Deal.” She smiled.
TWENTY-SEVEN
BRIDGET
As soon asmy shift was over, Issa found me to tell me I no longer owed Nikita anything. I careened around to face her, and my hand fell off the bar top.
“Why?” I asked dumbfounded.
