She tugged on the front of my hoodie that I’d worn under the coat I’d brought. It was cold as shit to a nigga like me who’d rarely left the south. Even with all this shit on I felt like I was about to freeze my nuts off.
I leaned closer to her and I could tell her breath hitched. “I’ve had my face in your pussy and you still think you can boss me around? Like I don’t know how to have you literally melting in my hands and all over my face. Phro…I would tell you not to test me but I’m a man that loves a challenge. That muthafucka needs to know that fame ain’t the only thing you got going for you. You got my fucking nose more open than them legs were last night. Ain’t nobody fucking with mine, feel me?”
I leaned back and saw the flushed look on her face, and I knew she was getting turned on. It was too bad we had this flight to catch because I hated leaving her like this.
“Ant!”
I turned to ’Twan and nodded my head before I hollered, “I’m coming!” Looking back at Aphrodite I tried to memorize how she looked right now because I wasn’t sure how soon it would be until I could touch her again. “Forty-five minutes. That’s all he’s got before I send out the police. We not gone be too far away at Newark so it ain’t no thang to say fuck this flight.”
“I’ll be fine. Not good since I’m not running away with you but fine.” She was truly trying to have me say fuck this flight the more she was talking like this.
“Shit gets too crazy with your people my door is always open.”
She nodded and I tilted her chin up and placed what was supposed to be a soft kiss on her lips. That softness went out the window the moment she opened her mouth and allowed my tongue inside. I felt like a horny ass unabashed teenager tonguing this girl down in public. Especially knowing that someone might see us but I didn’t care. I’d hoped that her being on her home turf meant that folks would give her room to breathe but hell paparazzi would follow Jay-Z and Beyoncé when they were in New York so I was probably tempting fate. And I still didn’t care.
“Ant! Let the fucking girl breathe, we gotta go!”
My brother’s voice was the only thing that would’ve penetrated the fog I was in with her. His ass was hollering in the middle of the damn city like we weren’t trying to keep a low profile.
I turned back to her and knew I was going to have to say goodbye for real this time.
“Be safe and don’t forget the message.”
Her smile was sad and that shit fucked with my heart heavy. “I won’t.”
I stood and watched her get inside and lingered until the car drove off not giving a fuck about the people trying to get aroundme on the sidewalk. It pained me to walk away and get in the one that was waiting to take us to the airport.
“It’s like that?”
Antwan was grinning as I slid into the seat next to him and closed the door. I started blowing on my hands because the cold had them feeling like I was going to lose a finger. At some point, my ass should’ve thought to pack gloves but I didn’t and now I was paying the price for it.
“Very much so, and I ain’t even do all you think I did.”
I knew he thought I’d slept with Aphrodite but I didn’t want him to think of her like that. Not that he would’ve judged anybody for how they got down, but I still wanted him to think of her in the best light.
I’m geeked about this girl for real.
“The way you sniffing around behind her in the middle of the damn sidewalk like y’all ain’t got home training lets me know you got it bad. Might be a good idea if you ain’t link up with her like that cause you would be heading back to Texas just to pack your shit up to follow her around. You sure you just met her yesterday?”
Our faces were so similar that it would’ve been impossible for us to deny our relationship. Right now he was giving me that parental look with his eyes narrowed, which meant he was trying to figure out if I was lying or not.
“Yeah.” I ain’t have anything to hide because all of this was shocking to me too.
‘Twan pulled out his phone and then nonchalantly said, “Oh, then that’s your wife then.”
I sat forward since his words had caused a chill to wash over me and I knew it wasn’t from the cold outside. “Antwan—”
He chuckled and kept scrolling through his phone like he hadn’t said something so profound.
“Bruh, trust what I said. You over here going at lil baybeeh hard in the middle of all outside like there ain’t eyes everywhere. And I get it because the only woman that has ever held my attention that bad got my last name, my baby and a diamond larger than her big ass head, on her finger.”
I leaned back in my seat because he’d given me something to think about. Instead of dwelling on it I wanted to change the subject to something lighter. “I’mma tell her you said that shit.”
“She know she got a big-ass head. But she know she fine so that makes up for it.” He was grinning like a man who found his forever and I couldn’t be mad at his ass.
“Whatever man.” Traffic eased up the further we got from the city and we were now moving through the tunnel to get us to where we needed to be.
“Y’all vibed that hard after the thing yesterday?”
