Boyd watched his fingers tease the edges of her tight channel. “Next time you come, I’m going to be inside of you.” He reminded her, gently rubbing her swollen flesh, but not giving her the friction that she desired. “However… if it was my permanent, fulltime job, I’d handle this first thing every morning. And all through the day and night, if you needed it.”
“I need it,now.”
“Hire me, then. I’ll take such good care of you.” He bent his head to kiss her, again. “You’re The One for me, too.”
Mabel gasped against his lips, even as she kissed him back.
He smiled at her astonishment, pulling back to meet her eyes. “Did you think it only goes in one direction? No, Mabe. I told you, we’reit. I’m yours …And you are mine.”
“You’re hired.” Her legs wrapped around the back of his, like she was bracing herself. “Alright. We’re doing this. We might have to adjust our positions, if you’re going to fit, but…”
Boyd surged inside of her, before she could finish worrying and send them back a step in the applicant screening process.
Instantly, Mabel’s satiny heat sealed tight around him. It felt like arriving home, after years of war. “My God…” He whispered in awe, dropping his head onto her chest and trying to remember how to breathe. Trying to stay still and give her time. Trying not to come, right then and there.
Mabel stiffened for a moment, braced for excruciating pain. And when that didn’t happen, she relaxed, her muscles yielding to his invasion. Rippling around him. Accepting him and tugging him deeper.
Boyd’s teeth clenched. “Christ…”
Mabel didn’t notice his agony, caught up in discovery. “Oh.” It was a sigh of pleasure, as she moved against him. She instinctively adjusted her legs, so they were at his hips and she had more leverage. “Oh, Ireallylike this.”
Tenderness and satisfaction filled him, despite the torturous ecstasy threatening to kill him dead at any moment. “You hired the right man, huh?”
Her hand touched his face. “My man.”
It took everything in him, but he went slow and made it gentle for her. And hell if he didn’t love the sweetness of it, too. He looked into Mabel’s eyes and if there had been a molecule of his being that didn’t already belong to her, it was handed right over. He was enraptured by his bride.
Mabel’s suddenly arched. “Right there! You need to keep doing that, right there, only faster.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He did just what she asked, because he was a man who aimed to please.
“Boyd.” She called out his name in bliss, her body spasming around him.
And then he was gone, erupting into her tight heat. His face thrown back and his triumphant shout echoing off the ceiling. Nothing had ever felt so right to him.
He dropped his head to her chest, breathing hard. “Marry me on Tuesday.”
“The courthouse opens at nine a.m.” She agreed, with a dreamy sigh. “We might have to fill out paperwork and stuff, though. Blood tests. It could take a few days to make it official.”
“I’ll make sure it doesn’t.” Boyd was ready to bribe every clerk in the building, if that’s what it took. He had a whole lot of money and nothing he’d rather spend it on. “You’ve got about thirty-three hours left to be single. Enjoy it.”
Somehow or other, he found the energy to gather up his replete fiancée and carry her back to his favorite chair. He collapsed there, winded and happy, with Mabel curled up on his lap. His wife. His family. There had never been a gambler so lucky.
“Where’d my ring go?” She asked sleepily.
“Still on the desk. Want me to get it?”
“If you move, I’ll fire you.”
He smiled and smoothed her mussed hair. “Is it going to bother you if you get pregnant?” They probably should have discussed that earlier, because he hadn’t used anything and he was pretty damn sure she hadn’t either. “We can figure it out, so it doesn’t interfere with your career.”
“There’s nothing to figure out. I’ll just take the baby to the warehouse with me or work on the books here, when I can’t. I grew up around Lew’s business and I turned out okay. It’s good for a child to learn a trade.” She snuggled against him. “Will it bother you if I get pregnant?”
“Of course not. Iwantyou to. This house is made for kids. That’s why I bought it for us.”
Mabel hummed like that answer pleased her. She closed her eyes. “We should have a baby, then. For the house’s sake.”
“Good.” His palm found her stomach. If it hadn’t happen this time, it would happen real soon. He could feel it. He was on a hot streak. “If we have a son, we should name him Lew.”
