I squinted. "Where is this going?" I asked, my pulse beginning to quicken for reasons I couldn't explain.

"It just hit me like lightning. Bourbon Man! I remembered his last name! It's Biggs!" Suzy practically shouted into the phone. "His last name is Biggs!"

I stopped breathing. The noise of the Halloween party faded to white static as the implications crashed over me like a tidal wave. Across the crowded room, my eyes found Jett's. He could tell something was wrong.

"Biggs?" I managed to whisper. "Not…BoydBiggs?"

My heart thudded in my ears.Thump-thump… thump-thump… thump-thump—

"Yes!" she screamed. "That's it—Boyd Biggs!"

The world seemed to tilt around me.
