And everyone knew.

He’d been hoping to keep the bi-curious thing private. So much for that.

Peter tried to get off Draven’s lap, but he was still held fast.

“I need to go clean up,” Peter said.

“Did I go too far?” Draven said, stroking Peter’s head like a pet. “I apologize. I was only trying to tease you. I got caught up in the moment.”

“No, it’s- people are watching.”

“I thought you liked it? The way you begged me,” Draven cut himself off to inhale deeply.

“Yeah, I, um, got carried away too. This is my first um- I’ve never-”

“That was your first-? I assumed-” Draven frowned. “Nevermind. Then you must let me make it up to you.”

Draven was being oddly pushy and intense.

“Can I clean up first? Please?”

“Of course.” Draven relented. “You know I’ll always take care of you.”

“Draven!” Their hushed, intimate whispering was interrupted. Oh fuck, he hadn’t imagined his chemistry teacher staring at them. “Is that you? My God man, you haven’t aged a day!”

“I’m sorry, do I know you?” You must have me mistaken for someone else,” Draven said, strong and sure.

Oh, so it wasn’t Peter the man had been staring at. Good.

“But your name is Draven? I heard-” Draven’s stare became stony and intimidating. “Sorry, you look just like someone I used to know when I was an undergrad.”

That must have been over four decades ago! Draven wasn’tthatold.

“You're a very lucky young man,” the prof said to Peter. “This behavior was frowned upon in my day.”

“Perhaps you knew a great uncle of mine. Now, if you’ll excuse us.”

Draven had that fixed, fake, close-lipped smile on his face. It was enough to make the hairs on the back of Peter’s neck stand up for an entirely different reason.

Draven effortlessly lifted Peter to his feet and led Peter away, suspiciously fast.

There was no way that man could have gone to undergrad with Draven.

But Peter’s chem teacher wasn’t the type to lie. He had an amazing memory, in fact. Peter had been shocked at how quickly the man memorized the whole class's face and names. Even years later, he recognized people.

The only way for them to have known each other in undergrad was if… Draven was a real vampire.

But that was impossible.

Chapter 6

Draven hurried Peter along to the nearest restroom.

While it was nice, because Peter desperately wanted to clean up, it also felt like Draven was trying to put distance between them and Peter’s prof.

Weird.

And it was even weirder how, when they reached the restroom, Draven refused to enter.
