Before I could take a breath, my pants were back in place and I was back on his lap. His hands cupped my cheeks and he was kissing me.

“We’re getting married,” he said, then kissed me some more.

“Yes,” I said, smiling and kissing him back.

“Lainey!” he shouted.

“No sex on my couch!” she shouted back, even though she was coming into the room. Thank God my butt wasn’t sticking out.

“We’re getting married. Today.”

She whooped.

“Call Ma and get it organized. You have two hours.”

It didn’t taketwo hours for Ma and Lainey to pull everything together. It took ninety minutes. That was because Colt–who was also a justice of the peace–had to ditch Mann and Trout at the sheriff’s department before he could make it to Lainey’s house.

Besides making everything take longer, we didn’t think it was best to have Ellie moving around, even from house to house on the ranch, until the ceremony was done.

I wanted her locked down.

Yes, I loved her.

Yes, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

I also wanted to ensure she could never be bothered by Trout ever again. Whatever deal he made with Mann wasn’t Ellie’s concern.

She’d be safe with my name.

As soon Colt pronounced us husband and wife and the marriage license was signed, I had Ellie over my shoulder andout the door. Lainey, Mom and Pops, plus all my brothers minus Zeb were there to witness it.

It was just right. Sure, I was in jeans and a flannel I threw on this morning. Ellie wasn’t even in a dress, let alone something white. If she wanted it, we’d do something fancy. Later.

Now, I tucked her in front of me on my snowmobile and rode back to our place and worked on making that family she wanted so much.

“I thinkyou should take Ellie on some beach honeymoon,” Colt told me. I answered his call since Ellie was in the shower after the latest round of sex. This time, she was on top, holding onto the headboard as she rode me. And she stayed on a lot longer than eight seconds.

I hadn’t heard from him in two days–he was a smart man not to fuck with his just-married brother fuckin’ the hell out of his new bride.

“I don’t need to go to the tropics to satisfy my wife.”

He grunted. “I meant for safety.”

“Ellie’s in danger?” I asked, clenching the hell out of my cell.

When Colt spoke in his serious tone and was concerned for someone in the family’s safety, I perked up. He never went off half-cocked. And I’d been out of touch for two days. I had no fucking clue what was going on with Trout.

I paced my living room, then peeked out the windows, as if some team of mercenaries was coming down the drive to get to her.

I was only in my jeans and I hadn’t even buttoned them. I’d be back buried balls deep in my wife soon enough. I couldn’t get enough of her.
