Both girls look confused at first, but as they walk closer and see Dane, they don’t seem as confused anymore.

Typical.

“That depends, whatcha got?” the brunette answers with a smirk.

“Pick your poison,” Dane says as he walks to the cooler on the sand and lifts the cover up.

“White Claw, now we’re talking,” the blonde says as she grabs two out for her and her friend.

When the brunette throws Dane a wide smile, he grins as he gestures to his chair. “All yours.” I’m throwing Kate the eyes that say “I can’t wait to watch all this unfold,” as she does the exact same to me. Then, Trent gets up from his chair to offer the blonde his seat, and it seems like our friend Trent is going to get lucky tonight too.

“Wait, you guys brought cornhole? Let’s play!” Dane’s girl of interest says enthusiastically. She grabs Dane’s hand and leads him toward the cornhole boards we have set up outside our circle of chairs.

“Yes!” the blonde shouts as she follows suit and leads Trent to join in on the game with Dane and his girl.

While Cheryl, Ronnie, and Kate are engaged in conversation, I turn to look at Kyle. “Don’t you just love nights like this? They’re so simple, yet they make for amazing memories.”

Kyle puts an arm around me. “Agreed, nothing better. Except maybe if you were doing a strip tease for me,” Kyle jokes as he wiggles his eyebrows at me.

I laugh and grab the side of his face. “Well, maybe if you play your cards right, I can offer one when we’re home.”

“Mmm, I love when you talk dirty to me.”

I laugh again and give him a quick peck on the lips. “Ugh, promise when we’re old, saggy, and wrinkly, that we still have this same sexual energy,” I say.

Kyle shakes his head with a smile. “With you, I don’t think that’s a problem.”

I cuddle into his arm again and rest my head against his shoulder. “Dane’s girl looks like an actress, but I can’t put my finger on it,” I say as I’m watching the cornhole events unfold.

Kyle takes a swig of his beer before responding. “Mila Kunis.”

I jump up and look at Kyle. “Oh my god, yes! That’s it!”

Kyle chuckles. “Seems like you like her as much as Dane does.”

I shrug, considering her beauty as I look her over. “She’s pretty hot. And so is the blonde, apparently. I may be a little jealous of Trent too.”

“But they’ve got nothing on you, babe,” Kyle says.

I turn around to look at him and cup the side of his face. “Aww, thanks, babe. But you still aren’t winning the car battle. We’re going with an SUV for our next vehicle, not another sports car.”

“Damn,” Kyle mutters, feigning defeat.

I laugh and wave my hands in the air to emphasize my point. “A sports car is not a family car!”

“We could totally make it work. You’re not even giving it a fair shot,” he accuses.

I roll my eyes. “Uh-huh.”

“Hey! Who wants the next round?” Trent calls out from the cornhole game.

“We do!” I shout back as I tug my hoodie down and grab Kyle’s hand to lead him toward the cornhole extravaganza.

I stand next to Dane’s girl, and Kyle stands next to Dane across the way. “Is she carrying you or what?” Kyle says to Dane. She giggles and then Kyle introduces himself. “I’m Kyle, by the way.”

“Lauren,” she says with a small wave.

I turn to her with a smile and extend my hand. “Aria. Nice to meet you.”
